    Late lunch
We got married at this venue 20 years ago and it was honestly the best day of our lives. We have returned over time and always had the most perfect experience. This was the first time we came away really disappointed and maybe it’s because of the busy time of the year. However, I would have thought at 2.45pm the rush was gone and we would have been ok. Sadly it took nearly two hours to serve two courses. The first course was a massive disappointment with the octopus served cold with cold mashed potato. Was definitely not a fan and I would have thought it would have been better served hot. The second course was beef and the meat was cooked perfectly. The kale was to die for but the peach and puree just didn’t go sadly. Good separately but not together. Would have really gone well with the side of potatoes that were sadly forgotten and brought out after the meal was finished. The others enjoyed the last course but whilst the staff were so lovely sadly we were left alone throughout and just wished away for someone to come and offer pepper for the main. Overall for the price I would prefer others and might try vasse felix next.

    An great winery to visit
Wine tasting was excellent, staff made us feel welcomed and offered great wines for tasting. we were disappointed that we didn't stay for lunch. unfortunately we forgot to ask why they picked Xanadu as their name.
Dear D6625BRandrewb, Thank you for your 5-Star review, We are delighted you had a great time and be sure to book ahead for lunch next time. Dr John Lagan was our founder, he travelled from ireland in the late 60's and founded Xanadu in 1977. He was also the local Medical Doctor and a very literary man, he loved poetry and found alot of resemblence in his journey from Ireland to the Samuel Coleridge poem the Kubla Khan - see extract below. (it is a very long peom if you would like to read it in full see here - https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43991/kubla-khan) In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. So twice five miles of fertile ground With walls and towers were girdled round; And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills, Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree; And here were forests ancient as the hills, Enfolding sunny spots of greenery. We look forward to hosting you in the future. Warm Regards Team Xanadu

    Disappointed!!
We’re highly recommended this winery by 2 different people but we had a subpar experience so can’t even remember if we like the wines or not. Our tasting person kept looking at her watch like she had somewhere else to be , or she’d pour our wine and walk off with no explanation or details about our pour. Left before our last tasting .
Dear Menhub, Thank you for your feedback, and I am very sorry to hear that we fell short on this occasion. This is not the normal service experience we provide, I am unsure what happened on this visit and I can only apoligise. As you mentoned you had recieved personal recommendations and i would like the opportunity to provide a tasting and experience to showcase our wines to you. Please reach out to me when you are next in the region on sales@xanaduwines.com or 08 9758 9521 and i would be delighted to host you. Warm regards Sam Bradley Cellar Door Manager

Xanadu Winery produces great wines in the classic Margaret River style, Recent vintages have produced great white wines, especially Chardonnays, a Margaret River favouite. Favourable climatic conditions have created the raw material for outstanding red wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon. These may prove to be among the best vintages Margaret River has produced.

Xanadu is a magnificent winery. The cellar door is always professional whilst remaining friendly. We felt privileged not only to taste some excellent wines but also to see the Jimmy Watson Trophy which was on display and awarded for their 2016 cabernet sauvignon. A wonderfull day spent at Xanadu winery. Being a member of the wine club we booked our tour of the winery on our recent visit to Xanadu winery. We visited the winery with friends. From the time we arrived for the tour, had lunch and then tastings we could not fault the service.
Sam showed us around the winery and then served us for the wine tasting. Sam knows her wines and again great customer service.
The food is out of this world. You can either enjoy a set price lunch or buy from the menu but which ever way you go you will not be disappointed.
The food is fresh, full of flavour. Great wines to pair with you food, they do cater for those who do not like wines.
We will definitely be back again and again.

10/10! Look no further for a delicious, refined lunch with amazing wines. Friendly, helpful staff in a delightful setting. There are many restaurant wineries in Margaret River but this is one of the best. Kids menu, colouring, large grassy area AND a playground. A must!

We had a wonderful lunch, hosted by the amazing Michelle. The red wine infused bread with the golden syrup was a real treat. The soft shell crab was amazing. Service and wine impeccable. Cannot recommend it enough.

Great wines in a beautiful location. Playground for young children and nice friendly staff. They have a wine tasting for $10 and a nice looking menu (we didn't try any food though) well worth a visit if you're in the area and the weather is nice.

The grounds of this winery are amazing and provide a great entrance. The tasting area was beautifully decorated with interesting things to look at. It was quite busy on the afternoon we were there, and even though the staff were rushed off their feet, they were helpful and friendly. The beautiful lawn outside looks just made for a picnic rug! Based on our tasting experience, we would definitely put the restaurant on our list of things to do next time!

Somehow over the years Xanadu was never on our radar. Today we had our first visit for lunch.
Beautiful winery with a long scenic driveway.
Warm greeting and given a free pick of tables both inside and out.
Opted for the 3 course $70 Prix Fixe.
Started with the charcuterie plate to share. One of the tastiest charcuterie boards ever ...excellent meats and pickles with mini loaves and crisp breads..not a crumb remained !
My main was the beef rib, so tender and tasty, paired with a side of the Royal Blue potatoes..very crispy and yummy.
The top of the desserts was the banana parfait..bowl lickingly good!
Delicious wines and oodles of sparkling water. Finished our with a really good coffee.
Really good food and wine but what makes this winery move to the top of our favourites is the impeccable service from the wait staff, they are a credit to the hospitality industry.
