We visited this winery several years ago and very much enjoyed. We thought we would visit 1st November to taste latest wines. To our surprise they are now charging $10 per person and this only includes 4 wines.

There were 2 couples and was informed the tasting could be redeemed against a purchase. The wines were very average but we thought we would purchase a bottle per couple....but we were then told that we would need to purchase a bottle each !!

All other wineries in Margaret River will at least waiver the additional person fee if in couples so it’s very disappointing that we would be charged. We ended up paying $10 fee and not purchasing any wines and would not return or recommend.

I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your visit, and that our wines were not to your taste. As our very small producer of premium, single estate wines, we do have to charge a tasting fee to cover our costs, but this is fully redeemable against a single bottle purchase.

It is always sad to see a business with an empty carpark during peak season. It tells you something.
We arrived with a cheerful welcome then told we used the hand sanitiser the wrong way. Seriously...
As a couple I don’t mind the smaller wineries charging $10 for a tasting. You buy a bottle. I normally by two or more! Having been to this winery previously the now ludicrous charge of 10$ per person is ridiculous! Especially with limitations to 10$ off each bottle per person. As we often travel with our adult kids this winery is certainly off our favourites list. What a shame!
Other exceptional wineries do not charge so excessively! I would try them instead...

I am sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience during your visit just before Christmas, although how lucky you were to have the place to yourself - and I am very confused by your complaint about our charges. Having stated that you don't mind smaller wineries charging $10 for a tasting, you go on to complain about our own $10 tasting fee? We are a very small producer of single vineyard, highly awarded wines, and the $10 tasting fee is fully redeemable against any bottle purchase, so it seems that you would agree that our charges are more than fair.... I hope you will give us another try next time you are in Margaret River and look forward to welcoming you back.

Visiting from the UK over the Christmas period, you can imagine my family and I tried most of the estates. Without a doubt this little gem was the standout best by far. Beautiful setting on the lawn by the waterfront in the summer sunshine.

We sadly couldn’t choose between the tasting pairing with the cheese or the bespoke chocolates, so we were forced to go back a second day!

Overall, absolutely top drawer. I’m delighted we can now get their wines in the UK too!

Can’t fault this wonderful place we always take friends and family who visit us. They do four exceptional wines that really showcase the region, add in cheese sampling and the wonderful staff and you’ve got yourselves a perfect spot, overlooking the dam to while away some time. If you’re lucky you’ll get to meet one of their possums they rehabilitate!

What a stunning boutique winery with exceptional wines. The staff were amazing, we had a good laugh and enjoyed the wines, the ambience and the story of the possums. What a brilliant part in possum conservation they are playing.

There were 6 of us on the tour and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Passel Estate.

In what co u I'd be described as a micro winery, some very interesting and botique wines. The offering for tasting are by design limited to 4 styles. A sauvignon blanc, a chardonnay, a shiraz and a cabernet sauvignon. There were 2 reserve grades available for sale, but not for geberal tasting.

Mouth watering wines and for the top of the range reserve cabernet sauvignon a mouth watering prices of $95/bottle. Given the quality and taste of the wines we tasted I'm sure the premupium wines are worth the investment, but not on my budget.

Having traveled to this wine region frequently I find myself becoming comfortable with ‘what I know and what is familiar’. Thankfully on this occasion my wife and I found ourselves with a last minute change of plans that led us here. I will keep this review simple as I need to save space for some superlatives.

Devine setting, very tastefully done, wine and food pairings are very well considered and of course the actual vino, well this family owned vineyard has got it right. I’ve even joined their wine club. I love them.

Do yourself a favour when in the Margaret River region and try some of the less corporate vineyards that dare I say it, are owned by big businesses. Passel is one of the best.

❤️❤️❤️

Enjoyed a lovely cheese and wine tasting here. The outside seating overlooking the view was one of the best settings for a wine tasting that we experienced at Margaret River.
