Another must for those visiting Kal!
Jul 2021
There are so many paths to choose here, most are around 4km, but some are only just over 2kms long. Although there were a few people there, jogging and just walking around, the place is so huge that you really don't see them. There are signs at various intervals, although they could be a little closer so you know you're on the right track. The lookout is amazing, a total 360 panoramic view, stretching as far as the eye can see. It was incredibly windy when we went but good bracing walking weather. I imagine it would get quite warm there in summer and probably quite generous with flies...

Woodland the size of England
Apr 2021
We took a short walk through the park up to the lookout and back. We would loved to have stayed longer if it hadn’t been such a hot day. There are some beautiful salmon gums in amongst the other bush life. A few flies dotted around, but not severe. There is a drop toilet available. The view and breeze up on the top platform were worth the walk. The woodland is immense, you really get feel for how vast it is from the top of the platform. Ok to take dogs, less exciting for young children. Easy parking, free entry.

A must visit place for nature lovers and exercise enthusiasts
Jul 2020
Two couples visited the park together, all excited to see the goldfields flora and watching out for birds. I had been there before and described it as Kalgoorlie's King's Park. The others were very engaged and went again in the early morning. The look-out gives a different perspective and it was terrific to see Drones in action, capturing photos of the landscape. Don't forget your hat, water bottle and sunscreen (even in winter).

Enjoyed a circular walk, including an observation platform with incredible 360 degree views. Choice of different length walks, all well marked.

Best bushwalk in Kalgoorlie

The Karlkurla BushlandPpark should be on the agenda of anyone who is visiting Kalgoorlie and has an interest in gaining an appreciation of the Great Western Woodland. The pathways are excellent, the signage informative, and the view from the hill amazing. Recommended.

Native flowers to see as they are watered. A great place to see a wide variety of local flora within a small area. Thanks to the folk who thought of it, protect and preserve it from the encroaching houses.

Nice bush park

Quite a pleasant place for a walk through the bush but not especially enthralling. The birdlife was interesting but not great.

A beautiful showcase of the biodiversity of the Goldfields
Apr 2018 • Solo
Karlkurla Bushland Park is 200 acres of restored native species undertaken by the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group. Take a walk (or Parkrun on Saturday mornings) through the park and checkout the lookout at sunset. Information boards provide information on species and the history of the environmental challenges due to mining, grazing and tree removal. A beautiful place for a stroll.

Walk your cares away
Apr 2018 • Solo
Karlkurla Bushland park is a haven of peace on the outskirts of Kalgoorlie. The paved paths wind for 5-6 km and you can easily do shorter loops, with maps on sign boards at regular intervals. The park is carefully managed regrowth after the environmental disaster of the early miners. Depending on the time of year, there will be wattles flowering, emu bushes / eremophila, and lots of eucalypts. The park nursery is the headquarters of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group, where you can buy seedlings to plant at home. There's a lookout on one loop, and you can see miles across the Goldfields. And there are picnic tables in many places. Dogs must be on leash.
