Nothing really but a stroll atop a large concrete wall to view many fishing without, it seems any success. Only real redeeming feature is that it affords nice seascapes.

There were lot of people having a walk along the way. There are boat ramps for boating entusiasts. There were also people coming to excversise their horses on the shallow areas. This was a pleasant sight. The around the corner, there is also a nice...More

A beautiful walkway and bike path. Provides different vistas and beach access to the scenic coast. Make sure you take time to watch the horses swimming behind row boats. The gentleman overseeing the horses on and off the beach is very friendly as are the...More

What a gorgeous site when standing on the breakwater, the surf was rolling in and the breakers were huge... even lucky enough to get some spray on us!

The breakwater is a must visit when coming to Warrnambool. The breakwater itself is over 100 years old and heritage listed. You can still see the remnants of old railway lines when it was a thriving port. It's a favourite fishing spot for young and...More

A top location to capture a sunrise or dramatic wave crashing into the breakwaters, (especially in winter). Great costal views close to the city.

Great place for an alternate view of the city. Plenty of parking and a cafe/bar nearby. The fun is walking along the upper level of the breakwater without getting too wet from the crashing waves. Lots of fisherfolk of all ages enjoying the sport, as...More

Hi Marnie. The race horses are generally swimming near the breakwater from about 6am to about 7.30am weekdays. It's worth having a look. Cheers, Paul
