Gem! Planned to drop by only, ended with spending whole day and still wanna visit again. Lovely historical shops and buildings are displayed on the block with true story and lifestyle back in a century. Lacer spectacular show at night is a must go too. You will feel every penny is well spent.

This was one of the most interesting to visit and could spend several hours taking in all the displays

The Pioneer Settlement is a really interesting historical landmark and it would be easy to spend hours here if you wanted. The paddle boat wasn't running during our visit, but it was still great. I would definitely suggest visiting during the peak period to maximise what you get out of it (although it was nice and quiet during our visit... More

Returned especially for the Light and Sound Show. Fantastic Not to be missed. We were the only two for show that night but treated like royalty. Mind blowing water, laser light and sound spectacular.Loved It.

Good historical portrait of life during the days of the steam engines. Kids really enjoyed the day. Steam boat ride was very informative.

The compound is small but free horse carriage ride. It gives more personal touch than Ballarat. The pass allows you to come back the next day.

The venue was very quiet on the day we visited. Seeing items from yesteryear was nostalgic for a baby boomer and educational for a millenial. Free ride on the horse and carriage and the Dodge car with very friendly and chatty drivers. The blacksmith was fun to talk to as well. We ate lunch at cafe, but there is a... More

Interesting and worth looking at. Having watched the butter churning I am going to give it a go at home.

Pioneer Settlement is a really cute place to visit. I have been with young kids and teens and each time is a lovely experience. Does get tiresome a bit quick if you aren't keen on spending loads if money. But the educational side of the blacksmithing and wood work is great - probably the best part.

Attended the Pioneer Settlements Laser, Light and Sound show on a very hot Saturday night. To be completely honest when we first decided to see the show we were a little shocked by the price, and was disappointed that a family ticket only includes 2 kids but unfortunately having 3 kids we are finding this more and more the case....
