Was at St Kilda for the sunset and there was this building just beside Luna Park. The facade was elegant.

This is a grand old Art-Deco theatre in a prime spot in St Kilda with apparently the largest seated capacity of any theatre in Australia. It is currently under renovation and due according to web sites to operate from April 2017. Having been to functions here in the past I recall its size but even from outside the architecture is... Went to the Palais Theatre during "The Comedy Festival" and saw "Arg Barker" and it was an awesome! Easy access by public transport, catch the tram to "Luna Park" and walk across the road.

It's not the first time I have been here. I have seen many a live show, musicals, entertainers and the like and it is my favorite venue. Next door to Luna Park if you are not from Melbourne trust me when I tell you, this area is like stepping back in time. You walk by theme parks with, old wooden... More

First impressions walking in was dowdy and really in need of refurbuishment,( which I understand is under way) also there was a musty smell. As for the show itself - the audio techs need to go back to training. When Julio was singing it was Ok but when he... More

Although undergoing renovations/refurbishment outside at the moment, the sound inside is still great for whoever you might go to see their concert. Hopefully there is some budget for the inside once the outside is finished

A classic Theatre that is central to great restaurants- Sadly though no where decent to have a beer. The theatre is a classic that has great sound nice surrounds and not a bad seat in the house. Everyone should try see a show here once in your life. Parking is easy and public transport runs straight to the front door.
