Must visit
Apr 2021 • Couples
Got to go here or you miss out on where all the good stuff is like where to by seafood straight of the wharf.
The old folk that manage it know their town. Check out the pelicans - awesome!

If you are driving into Lakes Entrance from Melbourne direction, you drive over the road bridge ( over the North Arm) , turn left at the roundabout and an immediate right into the carpark for the Information Centre. It's on a very prominent corner in town. If you have a boat or caravan, directly across the road next to the waterway there are parks for your longer vehicles.

There is a reasonable amount of car parking available. From the carpark there is a shelter structure you walk through that has a map of the local area (brilliant map)The area also has a postal box for those interested in sending postcards or letters from there. There is a large grassy area so your dog can also stretch their legs. Directly in front of the centre there are picnic tables with garden beds around them.

On the front windows there is information about fishing and other things for the area... No real list of things to do for when the centre is closed. I dropped in here and it was not open... according to the sign it was twenty minutes before opening when I left.. I could have waited but decided to keep moving to explore the area. I could see a gift shop inside.

Information pick up
Jul 2020
Robb wanted to book a fishing charter if any were running but of course they weren't with current restrictions but we did pick up other information we needed. Staff were very helpful but there were three staff on board and lately they have only had two or three people call in each day. They are reviewing their opening hours because of this, it can't be helped but it is very sad.

Lovely ladies and very helpful. Not a lot of tourist attractions open due to Covid19 but still plenty to do.

Had some good information and trinkets to buy. Busy. Staff are friendly and it’s a nice stop in from the heat in summer, info on all sorts of things.

Poor service at Information booth
Dec 2019
We wanted to use the Segway Adventures and asked at the information booth by the causeway where should go. We were instructed to walk to the other side of town and when we got there we couldn’t find it. A helpful member of the public asked us what we were looking for and told us it was next to the information booth at the park, where we’d just come from. So we walked all the way back and found Segways Adventures as the kind gentleman had instructed. We went to the information booth to tell them of their mistake (the Segways were literally just behind their booth) and the young man said he thought we had said ‘Safeway’ and they all smirked and sniggered not apologising for their mistake. I think they need a lesson in customer service! Not good for people who are supposed to be welcoming visitors to their town.
