We did the lunch cruise departing Lakes Entrance at 1200 cruising up the magnificent lakes of Gippsland to lunch at Metung Hotel then picked up the Ferry to go onto Paynesville & return to Lakes Entrance. Wasn't over crowded, just nice with magnificent views either side wherever you looked. The meal was not over the top at Metung Hotel but... More

Today we went on a lunch cruise from Lakes Entrance into the Lake system and had lunch at Metung Hotel. It was a 4 hour cruise/lunch tour with a 2 course lunch included at Metung Hotel. First a 45 minute cruise to Metung then we were dropped there for 2 hours during which time we had a choice of 5... More

We had an enjoyable day cruising around the Lake District. The skipper was informative and made our day enjoyable. Lunch at the hotel was included in the price. The food was really good.

As the title says, we did the Thursday hotel deal. Be aware though it gives you 2 hours in Metung. So that leaves only 2 hours on the water. After a bit of mucking around, it is actually only a 30 min boat ride with some attractions. The boat was quick and reasonably comfy. It was nice of the captain... More

We booked on the lunch time cruise. We left Lakes Entrance at 11.45 and returned at 4pm. We were taken to the heads so we could see the seals and were lucky to also see the dolphins. Next stop was Metung where we disembarked for 2 hours to have lunch at the pub and a walk of the town and... More

We did the afternoon cruise, 70kms including going around Raymond Island. The boat Thunderbird is a good sized vessel (149 persons) and has a bar and snack bar on board. The crew are very helpful and there is an excellent commentary. This cruise is recommended and on our next visit we will be doing the lunch cruise to Metung.

Was a bit dubious about a limited cruise and being dropped off at a pub for 2 hours. But I was wrong. Great cruise, found Dolphins, seals and an amazing amount of aquatic bird life. The pub at Metong and the township was great. Food at the pub as part of the cruise was very enjoyable. Really good day out.

Great way to tick off a few things on the list in Lakes Entrance. The boat ride through the beautiful lakes system, and then lunch and wine at the winery, was a lovely way to see the sights. The sun was shining too- it couldn't have been better weather! Great, friendly service from the skipper and the winery hosts too.

We took the longest cruise throughout the lake system back to Paynesville and its canals, and right up to the Entrance. Thoroughly enjoyable trip, with just the right amount of commentary that lets you relax and enjoy the scenery.

We took a lovely cruise up the North Arm to Wyanga Park Winery for lunch while we were on an escape in Lakes Entrance. It was a pleasant cruise with a great skipper who shared her vast knowledge of the lakes System and the history of the area. A highlight was seeing the Sea Eagles searching for food as we... More
