The Port of Echuca is a living monument to the 1870's when it was Australia's largest inland port and indeed the third largest port in Australia outside Sydney and Melbourne. Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed.

Nostalgic paddle steamer ride

Excellent facilities and information centre, good value package deals on tours and meals. Old fashioned cafe/restaurant with good food within walking distance.

The centre was an absolute eye opener with the tour firing off a few stats which really made me feel proud to be an Ozzie. No spoilers though. At night we took the ghost tour, which although not quite as atmospheric at Port Arthur, it was still pretty good.

Friendly, well run and a great family outing at any age. Fantastic, helpful and happy staff all added to the experience. I loved it and so did my 16 year old son.

A great day out. The discovery centre is interesting and easy to digest. We did the tour which was well worth it as I am not a fan of reading plaques in museums! The paddle steamer ride was relaxing, even with the speed boats!

I had intended on making the discovery centre an "event for another day " as we had a huge itinerary booked but after the boa cruise it just seemed to work in do well. We were in luck because it was celebrating 150 years of the Adelaide on the murray so entrance was free. But would have happily paid as... More

Awesome day out. The kids spotto kept us entertained all morning. The people were very friendly and helpful. The kept the kids engaged. The paddleboat trip was wonderful. It helped to have lots of colouring in plus the engineer certificate.

Great place to learn the history of the town. Came with my 9 year old son who really enjoyed it. Interactive displays and short movies. Even a shop to get your souvenirs from. Staff were very friendly.

We went to Echuca for the weekend and decided to have soil at the port. We had a guide show us around, it was very interesting. The tour guide was fantastic. Well worth the money.
