My husband and I and our 12 year old recently went to the show. We decided not to buy the dinner there. We all enjoyed the show and although we were originally not sure whether the show would be value for money we decided afterwards it was well worth the expense Our son, who is interested in history, loved the... This show is fantastic!!!! We started off in the auditorium watching a video. Next we walked outside listening to and watching "the story". We then boarded a bus to another part of Sovereign Hill and sat in an undercover area where the story and lights continued. At the conclusion of the show we boarded the bus back to the main... More

Under the light of a full moon on a cold January night (yes rug up) we enjoyed a yummy and well organized dinner and were then educated by a unique and informative light and sound show about the Eureka Stockade and the birth of the Australian spirit of democracy. Well worth staying overnight in Ballarat for this experience. The kids... More

I last saw the show 14 years ago and was equally impressed last night seeing it again. A few changes as expected but it was marvelous from start to finish. The staff are so enthusiastic and friendly. It telss the story of our history so colourfully and with great creativity. There is just enough technology without over doing it. Worth... More

We added dinner and light show as part of our stay at Sovereign Hill. The dinner is held in one of the restaurants in Main Street of Sovereign Hill included a main and desert with separate kids meal. Drinks sold separately. Light shows starts in the auditorium and moves onto the digging site and then board open air buses which... More

We had the meal before the show. My wife ordered the beef ribs and myself the pulled pork burger. Desert was toffee pudding which was not sweet but delicious. The sound and light show was our first time experiencing it. Even though live actors would have made the experience more exciting, we both enjoyed it thoroughly none the less. The... More

The night we went was freezing cold, so needless to say it was mostly outside, and when inside, there was no heat, so we froze. They did a good job on explaining the term of Blood on the Southern Cross, but we were very disappointed that there was no live action, which would have made it a lot more interesting.... More

We did the light and sound show package that included the meal 45minutes before the show. They did a good job feeding the people on mass and the food was not cold and pretty good. The show starts at 8:45pm and finished around 10pm. Luck had it the weather was warm and pleasant. I am not sure it would be... More

We went to see this night time show and would highly recommend it to anyone. It is well worth seeing. It's very educational and we learnt a lot about the history of the chinese. It's a must do while in Ballarat.
