Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar...

Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge.

Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard.

It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston!

I did the 4 Hour Cruise to the Batman Bridge which included a short visit to the Cataract Gorge. As I did this in the 'Off Season' there were only 13 of us on this Cruise - the Boat was SO EMPTY. This proved to be a Great Advantage as it was so easy to move about the Boat for... More

This tour is one of the tours that we most enjoyed on our trip. We did the 4 hour cruise to the batsman bridge and back. Callam and Tony were very friendly helpful and full of information. The cruise included morning tea, wine and beer tasting (this was a bonus to us as we did know) a light lunch which... More

This short Cruise Explores the Tamar River in Launceston and some way up the Gorge. The boat is very comfortable, crew is friendly and we learned about history and how the river is 'used' today. Very interesting cruise, the children enjoyed it very much too and were happy to have their questions answered by the friendly host. Would do another... More

We did the 50 minute tour which took us up the North and South Esk rivers and a little way up the Tamar. The boat was comfortable and not crowded and allowed excellent views. The guide was awesome, pointing out all manner of interesting things and giving an excellent historical background on what we were looking at. Of course going... More

A leisurely cruise along a beautiful waterway with a great commentary from the captain on the history of the area. Bottomless coffee pot and beautiful food. Topped off with a short foray into the cataract gorge to see the breathtaking scenery and see the wild water. An experience not to be missed!

Today my husband and I went on the 4 hour Batman bridge cruise for our honeymoon down in Launceston. We were not disappointed with the value for money we got! Amazing service and commentary by the wonderful Julie and Callum. The lunch was amazing, so many lovely locally made sandwiches followed by a gigantic cheese and fruit platter. The wine... More

We took advantage of a voucher from a local B&B and with the pleasant weather made our way down to Tamar River Cruises. On board, Captain Jeff was extremely polite and knowledgeable. His customer service was outstanding and he could answer every question that our two young children fired at him. The weather was perfect and the scenery was picturesque,... More

We booked online the tickets for a 4-hour Batman Bridge Luncheon Cruise a couple of months before our trip. Response was prompt. Provided the credit card details and we got the tickets quickly without hassle. The cruise itself was really relaxing and comfortable, the waters were fortunately calm on that day. The guests were mainly retirees from within Australia, except... More

Decided to do the 4 hour river cruise on my birthday. We walked to the Home Point Terminal but noticed cheap nearby car parking available. Every thing was perfect, the weather, the onboard staff, the food, the commentary, photographic opportunities. The history and information on points of interest as we moved along the Tamar by Captain Callum was excellent. I... More
