Description:

Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar...

Experience the excitement and history of Launceston's spectacular Tamar River from the comfort of our unique vessels. An informative commentary from our skippers will take you on a historical journey where you will discover the stories and tales that shaped Launceston and the Tamar Valley. Travel in to the heart of the Tamar and view the navigable section of the spectacular Cataract Gorge.

Sample the delights of our local wines and cheeses as you view breathtaking scenery, world class vineyards, historical buildings, rural settings and frequent encounters of fascinating wild life including sea eagles, wild duck, black swans, pelicans, plus many other varieties of water-fowl and occasionally playful seals. One of our passenger recently commented it is like a moving postcard.

It is certainly a 'must do' when visiting Launceston!

Morning Cruise - The cruise up the Tamar for 2.5hrs was done well. The tour was interesting and the Captain /crew Calum and Toni were friendly , knowledgeable and very helpful . We had come straight from airport for the morning Cruise and the Tamar did not disappoint to be very relaxing . We enjoyed the cruise and left the... More

We decided that to appreciate Launceston we should see it from the river(s) [Tamar, North Esk and South Esk] and we were right. We sailed aboard the Lady Launceston with a pleasant and well informed captain/guide. We went up the North Esk to the road bridge, down the Tamar to Kings Warf and into the Cataract Gorge. The commentary was... More

My wife and I did the 2.5 Hour morning cruise. All in all it was a pleasant relaxing trip. I think it was just the right amount of time. The captain was pretty knowledgeable about things which made the tour interesting. We managed to sight a couple of the rare White Breasted Sea Eagles as well. There is some wine... More

Went with a "local" who had a voucher (buy one get one free)! This was a bonus! We did the afternoon cruise (2 and a half hours). It was a glorious afternoon and we did enjoy sitting in the sun enjoying cruising up the river. Only criticism was they get out the afternoon tea a bit too early. We barely... More

Great relaxing cruise into the gorge.. Very informative and the captain was a wealth of knowledge. Great way to see the gorge from the water and gain some insight into the history of the area.

We booked the 4 hour cruise and we were lucky to have a nice sunny day. The captain and the 2 ladies on board were lovely and the commentary from the captain was insightful. We had a wine tasting on board (3 wines and a beer). There was morning tea available to us (tea, coffee, muffins and cookies) and a... More

The four hour cruise on the Tamar proved to be a winner on a sunny day. Our knowledgable captain, Callum, provided just the right amount of information and history of the area and went out of his way to manoeuvre the boat for photographs of rare birds including a pair of Sea Eagles. Morning tea was served almost immediately after... More

We Did the 4 hour cruise, this cruise included morning tea, wine tasting and lunch. In all honesty the Tamar river is not a particularly spectacular river but it does have it's moments of beauty. The captains commentary made the most of what was there to show and speak about mostly delivered on the trip down, on the trip back... More
