Fun for kids of all ages

Great fun, just outside of Launceston. When we went there was no-one there except us and the very friendly lady operator. It's a quick run, and not very expensive and not something you get to do everyday. Go and try it; I enjoyed it immensely.

An absolute must do in Launceston. Great fun and very affordable.

Wow!! This was an amazing experience. The thrill of hang gliding but with the comfort of being attached to a cable. Chris the operator was fantastic. Talked the family through everything and made us feel at ease. Then it was off!! 200m of feeling the thrill of flying through the forest. Unbelievably good value for money. $20 adult and $15 per child. $60 for a family of 4. It doesn’t get any better than that. Would highly recommend to everyone travelling to Launceston. Not to be missed!!!

Super fun for the kids!

I was a bit worried my 6 year old would be scared to hang glide however he absolutely loved it, so much so that he ran back up to Katherine to go again! Katherine was super friendly and very helpful. I called her the morning of to see if we could book in and she said she would call me back after she got to the hang gliding as the winds may be a little too High, she called me half an hour later and said we were good to go! Could not recommend enough!

A thrilling if short ride
Dec 2016 • Family
I recommend this to everyone who is visiting Launceston, after climbing up around the quarry face you are greeted by a lovely lass who secures you to the cable hang glider. You then run off the end of the platform and enjoy the amazing rush of fresh air. Highly recommended.

Short and Sweet Experience with an Absolutely Friendly Owner
Nov 2016 • Family
Was there this morning. Owner ( and operator as well) was stationed at the top of the hill. Follow the foot path up and we were greeted by the friendly lady, Katherine. She was all smiles and gave us a panoramic introduction of the bird's eye view of the place. We paid for a family package and she threw additional rides for the two boys for free. As she is the only person, she has to stay on the hill alone the whole day. So do call in to check on whether she is operating the ride before you go. Overall it was a valuable experience on a hang glider, and loads of warm hospitality from the owner.

If you want something smooth, not too fast and a great view, this is great. not for the thrill seekers.

Great staff, clean, felt very safe. this is a very mellow activity. Beautiful view. But if you are looking for the 'flying' or 'falling' feeling, that is not it. this is a smooth ride, nothing scary, easy to do and enjoyable.
it only lasts a few minutes, you can bring your belongings (backpack) as there is a space to leave it, and a camera on a lanyard (you would not want to drop it).
you combine this with the visit at the Airwalk so it's worth the long drive.

Enjoyable with stunning views

Got kitted out but just before starting the experience I became very nervous. The lady was lovely, patience and encouraging. So glad I did this. Once off the runaway it was brilliant and the views were stunning.

For first timer the ride is fun and exciting. In safe hand of the friendly and helpful lady who runs the place.

Excellent adventure, well worth the drive

My partner and I both had a go at this last year. The lady who runs this is absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful in the forest setting above an old quarry, the rigging was very professional with a modified (real) hang glider she explained was engineered by her husband. On first impression I felt very safe with the supplied harness, controlled descent operated from a purpose built control point and clear instructions given by the operator. My smartphone failed during recording my partner's first flight and, despite our offering to pay extra, the operator was nice enough to give my partner another flight for free [thank you for this!]. Would definitely recommend and visit this again in the future. One suggestion to others, if needing to wear specs/sunglasses be sure to wear a strap or lanyard as if they fall off it's a long drop down to the bottom of the quarry.
