Beautiful location with great wine

I never visit Launceston without visiting Josef Chromy. Wonderful wine, beautiful garden to enjoy a meat platter, or even just fries with family and friends.

Charged $10pp for a wine tasting of 11 people. Not enough seating for us all, the lady popped over every now and then to pour the wines, only giving us the name no details about them. The table or bucket were not cleared before our tasting began either. The wines were nice but service wasn't there.

Only four choices for mains at lunch and the choices unimpressive. Three of us chose the lamb and it was disgusting, When the dishes arrived, the stench was overwhelming, couldn't figure out what it was, but then realised that it was the dried olives (smelled like vomit, unfortunately). The lamb was re-heated and very fatty, the best part of the... More

$5 for tasting about 8 wines, we were very happy with that! We knew we would purchase a bottle or two as we had already tried one in our accomodati9on (Relbia lodge - next door). With the tasting if you purchase a bottle you get the tasting for free, bonus :) We stayed the same day and had a cheese... More

I got charged $5 for tasting two wines, even though I bought a $38 bottle of wine. Customer service was non existent. Won't be back and won't be recommending this cellar door.

Dear Sandy. Thank you for alerting us to this issue. With the vast number of wines on tasting, we do have a tasting fee per person that is most certainly refundable on purchase. Having investigated with the staff, we unable to recall any such conversations / interactions and can only put it down to a honest mistake if there was... More

What better place to visit than a winery on a cool July, not to mention it's close proximity to the airport. The tasting experience was very good, Joanne was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wine flight includes the higher end wines and has a great selection to sample. A very relaxed atmosphere in a pretty setting.

Just popped in for a quick visit. Beautiful grounds and vistas. A lovely place for a wedding, functions in the warmer weather. Sampled some champagnes. Very nice but a bit pricey. Lots to look at too. Some great looking gifts, foods etc.

Our last stop for the day on a cold wintery Thursday and the hospitality was amazing. Great wines. Amazing views. A must see!
