The winery is stunning, gorgeous gardens. Arrived without a booking as it was unavailable on line to be told they require 24 hours notice for a tasting but they had some available at $15 pp. but at set times only. Decided to try the restuarant but with just one suitable meal on the menu for our diet we opted for a platter. After being told that they could accommodate our dietary needs initially we were then told no we had to pay extra to add food they wouldn’t substitute food. We found this just extraordinary and out of step with a quality experience. We chose the basic of the 2 standard options and a glass of wine ($15 per 150ml) but our visit was tarnished by a lack of customer care. It very much felt like a business model that was profit driven well over customer experience. Very disappointing

Four of us did a wine tasting and then followed this by a sumptuous lunch in the restaurant. For the wine tasting we sat at a table on the veranda overlooking the lake and vineyard and very much enjoyed the experience. Very nice wines presented by knowledgeable and very friendly staff. For lunch in the restaurant, we selected the fish and the beef rib meals and found them very well presented and most enjoyable. Our waiting staff were all very friendly and most helpful. We'll certainly be back.

Visited 15th May for wine tasting after visiting several other wineries. This was by far the best. The lady who presented the wine tasting was well rehearsed and very informative she was great. Didn't taste a wine I did'nt like.

Josef Chromy is a beautiful winery and very well run. We booked for a wine tasting. Bookings are essential at the moment. You get a choice of three flights of four glasses of wine for $15. We also ordered a cheese platter from the bistro at $32 and it was possibly the best cheese platter I’ve had. Staff were delightful as was the wine!

Left Launceston for our next destination and stopped here on the way through. One of the more beautifully presented wineries I've visited in Australia. Didn't have a booking but as we were first there the friendly and helpful staff gladly fitted us in. The tasting experience was quite good with some different and lovely wines. We bought several bottles here but they don't discount or waive the tasting fee 🤔. Didn't have time for lunch but the restaurant looked nice. Wasn't overly interested with their menu thought. However if you like your wine and food then definitely check it out.

Of all the things we've done on our trip, this was one of the best. Fantastic lovely ladies serving, three options for the wine flights, all presented with a stunning view and set up. Thank you team, we loved talking to you and out time here.

This place has lovely gardens. Haven't been to the restaurant yet. The wine tasting experience is a little assembly line. Which it needs to be because there are always tour buses coming through. There are benches outside in a lovely setting where kids and teens can be deposited. The chardonnay is simply the best I've ever tasted. Hence the 5 stars. One thing that would make this place rock is to offer ice cream in the garden during peak season. Then the adults and kids would be both happy

Thanks for your feedback. As a winery, I don't think we'll ever be in the ice cream business, but I'm glad you enjoyed our Chardonnay!

Arrived for a booked and paid for wine tasting. Had to wait in bus zone until chained off drive way opened after 10. Booking was for 10.15. I had researched the wines not the reviews of the cellar door and took my colleague, a Spanish wine documentary series maker to taste two "flights". Greeted by a surprised young hostess who couldn't find our booking. Had to tell her what was booked etc. We sat ourselves down as we're not shown a table. We sat by a windows with a fantastic view. We were quickly told to move as that table was booked. With no one else having a tasting, we were sat at a table facing a wall. 10 wines arrived, hostess read the notes that were printed in front of us. Asked for a spittoon, never arrived. Had to break into her glass polishing to remind her, then given a paper cup.
Wine, the reason we came for was quite good, the service however was appalling. Never was spoken to again. As we were leaving, again, nothing. Didn't feel like buying anything after this impersonal service. Oh, and after 40 minutes no one else arrived, and those seats with the views, yes, remained unused.

What a lovely wine tasting experience! We hadn’t planned to go here on this day but our plans changed so we tried to book online but couldn’t as you need to book online 24 hours in advance. We phoned them and they were happy for us to go. Staff were friendly and so knowledgeable about their wines. We already knew we loved their whites but was great to try them all. Next time we will book for lunch as the aromas coming from the kitchen were amazing!

My husband & I booked in for the $30 wine and cheese platter. We were set up outside in the beautiful surroundings over looking the vineyard.
My husband had a selection of the reds and I enjoyed the whites. They were so yummy! We bought the Pinot Gris which they are known for. So good!!
We took our 4 small children with us who loved spending time in the gardens. They were welcome to be there. Was a lovely morning out and I highly recommend!
