About
Temptation is a 58 foot sailing catamaran which has been doing wild dolphin swims daily since 2001, in this time we have never been out on a dolphin cruise and not seen dolphins. In fact we will give you all your money back if dolphins are not seen on this cruise. Dolphins always come over to Temptation and you can stand or lay above them on our front nets. If you wish to swim, no worries (but book early to avoid disappointment) this is a totally wild experience, no feeding, no touching just viewing from within the water. Because these are wild dolphins we have strict rules to abide by (both for the safety of the swimmers and the dolphins) and sometimes it can be rushed to get the swimmers in the water and sometimes the crew do need to yell so that the swimmers know which way to look under water. If you book in for a swim and on the day change your mind, no problems we can refund the difference (direct bookings only), especially for young children who decide they don't want to swim, that way they don't need to feel forced to go into the water. Remember you will always see more dolphins from on board, but seeing wild dolphins underwater is just amazing.

On Monday I had the pleasure of going on a 3 1/2 hour Dolphin Cruise through Temptation Sailing at Glenelg courtesy of the SA Gov $100 Experience voucher. The crew on board were so knowledgeable in all things dolphin. What an amazing experience. I saw so many dolphins 💓 I highly recommend this cruise to anyone who loves to see dolphins.

It was a once in a lifetime experience for me and i’m extremely happy it could’ve been done with Temptation Sailing. We all had an amazing time, being in the water with the dolphins is so magical and thanks to the amazing and friendly crew, it was so much more fun. I suffer with anxiety but these guys made me feel comfortable knowing i could always ask for help if needed, 100% recommend whether you’re wanting to get in the water with the dolphins or just watch the from the boat, it’s amazing both ways😊

The night was warm & there was a slight sprinkling of rain, but we were lucky to be on a fabulous boat with a cheerful professional crew. We headed out towards Henley Beach, the water was so calm except for the annoying jet skiers a perfect night to be on the water. We were then steered in the direction of some dolphins which really were lovely. On the return home we were treated to a magnificent sunset so Captain Will came and made sure we all had an opportunity to have a photo with it as a background. It really was a wonderful experience & one I hope to experience again.

I am sure that on a calm day this would have been a much different experience!

While it was calm in the marina, it was a contrast out at sea. We bravely rocked and rolled for 2 hours, the only vessel in the water from Glenelg to Seacliff.

The drinks package was a no go, literally it was so difficult to stand, wobble to the rails then into the cabin - then repeat to go back, it was just not worth the risk of injury. Food came delivered by the friendly crew, with their amazing sea legs.

However not much was eaten. It would have been nice if we weren’t continually rocking and rolling and wind blown.

I did feel sorry for 4 very ill passengers who must have been hoping we would return to land soon.

Disappointing they did not postpone it for another day, it could have been lovely.

Hi Anonymous, Very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your cruise. Our last Afternoon Tea cruise it was blowing about 15 knots - with low to moderate seas, this is a bit choppy but certainly not choppy enough to cancel. Every day is different out on the water and not every day are we going to get flat calm conditions, and as we are a sailing boat, flat calm conditions are not necessarily preferred conditions. We actually have had other feedback from this cruise which says, even though it was not calm they enjoyed it, so not only is everyday different, everyone is different in what they expect. Bookings can also be changed 24 hours prior to the cruise.

I had a private charter for my 25th birthday with around 20 friends at the end of October. Although the weather wasn’t kind to us (out of everyone’s control) we all had the best time! The team on the vessel were friendly, welcoming and wanted everyone to be safe and have a good time! I had the drinks package and would recommend it if you have a larger group. Would definitely recommend this to family and friends!

Lovely Sunset Cruise experience. Calm seas at 9km winds. 15°C. Was very happy we had taken a jacket.
Bonus appearance of Dolphins frolicking near Boat.
Bar services. Food platters could be pre-ordered.
Staff very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Limited seating. Great viewing options on top or bottom deck. 2 boat cubicle toilets.
Good for all ages. Not suitable for people with significant mobility issues

the cruise is cheap so had no expectations.
Music was too loud and dominated the mood of the cruise, call me old fashion but I still prefer to mingle with conversation not having to compete with loud music.
The toilets where unsanitary and the boat would should be shut down via the health and safety commission, not clean and smelt awful, I dare not use them and waited till docked.
Staff where not dressed as should , they looked like Stow-aways. Not every one has a personality or likes their job and this was clear via the staff on this cruise. By the 60 minute mark most people were looking at there watch awaiting it to be over lol I was in good company with a dear friend , if not for this I probably would of walked the plank to get off that thing.

The team at Temptation Sailing are so friendly, accommodating and knowledgable. We were given a voucher for Christmas from my mum and could not have been more impressed! They made sure everyone saw dolphins and had plenty of time both front and back swims. We cannot recommended them highly enough!!

We had the package for two at 5pm. Staff were friendly, approachable and had a sense of humour which was refreshing. The antipasto 'platter' was a little underwhelming but its a nice option. If youre hungry though I'd suggest eating before hand. But this is a very minor thing as the relaxing cruise was lovely and we had a few laughs watching others try to get up and walk with drinks in their hands. Would definitely go back and maybe try the sunset cruise next time.
