I lived nearby in Tugun, and the stretch from Coolangatta to Currumbin is great, in off peak you can often find yourself as one of the only people for a few hundred metres in either direction, its busiest near the surf clubs and the swimming flags of course, but there's plenty of places in between where you can find a... Good walks and you can go for miles around the footpath. Clean beach, they clean up every day. Surf patrols all day as well.

Great wide sand beach for children to play and adults to relax. Surf livesavers are on watch, although not appropriate for small children when the surf is up. Otherwise quite good.

Beautiful beach with good waves. Well patrolled, so very safe for families. Plenty of parking, so easy to access.

We travelled from Melbourne on a Low-cost airline to this wonderful beach area. We stayed in a Holiday apartment complex which was central ,clean and well serviced. Surrounding Hotels (pubs) and restaurants were good value as was the Shopping complex .

It's a wide, white-sand beach right alongside the town. Perfect for walking along. For swimming, I prefer the Greenmount (southern) end as the waves are more regular there. There is usually a gutter at the Coolangatta (northern) end probably because of the breakwater at that end.

Amazing beach looking out over surfers paradise, very clean and supervised by life guards, good for surfing, bbqs, cafes, toilets, and surf life saving club close by. In the winter you can see whales from the beach.

One of the best beaches in the world. White sandy beach, right near the main street of Coolangatta. Not only great for swimming and surfing all year around also great for your morning or sunset walk. Lots of accommodation right near the beach and the surf clubs provide good food as well.

I have been going to Coolangatta Beach and the surrounds for over forty years. I still love that area as much as the first time I went. Please be careful on the main stretch of beach as most often there are strong currents which in my experience more often than not go from south to north. Take you ankle biters... More

We have visited from Melbourne many times and love the fact that everything is in easy walking distance. The local Sunday market on the foreshore was an added bonus
