My husband and father-in-law loved this experience of making their own rum blend and the tour of the rum distillery. Although quite pricey, it was a special occasion event that included 2 bottles your own uniquely made blend and recipe and your own labels on...More

The distillery tour gives a good insite of how rum is produced. At the end of the tour you can make two choices out of the total selection of rums. Good experience overal.

Just the Aussie thing to do I guess. I was very impressed with the style and input of the operations and how they had transformed the distillery to become a tourist centric working / functioning operation. Great tours and following Bundy Bears footsteps was a...More

Best part of the tour is of course the sampling at the end. Full nips x 2. They have food there also but did not eat. Great shop where you can buy all they make.

After spending an hour or so looking through the shop and museum/displays we did the distillery tour. Our tour guide Andrew was knowledgeable, funny and very keen as he walked us through the whole operation, including taste tests of not only a couple of rums,...More

What do you want help with? It looks like you have done some research and planned it well. Only thing I would change is drop into Caloundra rather than Maroochydore. the views in Caloundra are far more spectacular. Cheers.

Bond Store (Bundaberg Rum Distellery) Tour (0 Replies)
We recently visited Bundaberg and took the Bond Store (Bundaberg Rum Distillery) Tour. While the tour was very informative and enjoyable, we found that the rums sold by the company in their gift shop were more expensive than at outside liquor stores. We lost $30 in the process. When we contacted the company, enquiring why it was more expensive to buy directly from them, a company representative told us that it was our mistake to buy from their gift shop and if we complained about this issue,...More

We have from March 8 to 31 in Oz. We arrive in Sydney on the 8th, fly to Cairns on 11th where we will have a camper van awaiting us. Our plan is to snorkel GBR at WhitSundays, visit Mon Repos for the turltes, check out Bundaberg Barrel and the Bundaberg Rum Distillery while on route to the Gold Coast. In addition we hope to check out Steve Irwin's Zoo at Beerwal along with a day at the Gold Coast amusement area for our young teen. From there we want to head north of Sydney to the Blue Mnts....More

that coastal route is around 2700km. that's an average 200km/day every day according to your itineray plus detours to your sights of choice. much of the cairns to brisbane route is pretty mundane. doable? i guess. best use of time?....not in my book. i would fly to cairns, get my GBR hit there, fly to brisbane pick up the camper there and do the rounds, north and south, then fly to sydney for the final few days.
