LifeGurd are terrible. They are absolutely worthless and have a really nasty attitude. At the beach gate, which now closes at a very early time of 9:00 a.m., the traffic controllers are also extremely harsh and have a nasty attitude.
The beach used to be much better before, but when the government has done some fixing, parking is not free.
If the gate is closed? You will need to walk one hour to the beach, that is If they let you in, . Not recommended for Family with Kids

Spoiled by parking ticket at end of the day.If there is signage about fees it is not highly visible. None at Audley park entry booth nor parking lot at Wattamolla.
One is given 14 days to pay $12 or hit for a higher fee of $100 on the 15th day.
A massive turn off which could be better managed with proper signage or ticket vending when entry booths are unmanned. Let's face it, when you go for a day out we usually start early.
Truly poor customer management by the Office of Environment and Heritage.

Living in the Sutherland shire, Wattamolla was on my bucket list. I was a bit disappointed. Got there early and got a good parking spot, did the easy walk down to the water and set up our things. Beautiful spot where ocean meets river but so much rubbish. Went for a walk along the river and there was so much rubbish including not 1 but 2 nappies along the river. Needless to say I did not go swimming. Even the facilities the park has for rubbish was overflowing. Enjoy the beautiful spot but please visitors - take your rubbish with you.

This is a lovely beach - if you go when it is not busy. Great walks in the area and the temporary platoon makes getting to the water's edge a bit of fun - that will be gone once they finish the works upgrading the cliff walk that leads to the beach. Facilities (toilet) could do with a minor upgrade (a lick of paint and may be some new doors would not hurt) but overall it is a nice place - if you go when it is not busy.

A disgusting amount of rubbish soils the beach. Expect to find countless cigarette butts, crushed cans of beer and or bourbon & coke, and food scraps. The low point for me was seeing a used nappy half buried in the sand. A shame since the location is beautiful.

Royal National Park’s Wattamolla to Marley Beach trail, is one of the best trail in Sydney. It starts from beautiful Wattamolla beach, along a steep cliffside, a upgraded new track where you will see the nature landscape, Wattamolla Creek Dam, natural carving various shapes of white rocks, and colorful shrubs and wildflowers. The two golden sand beaches of Little Marley and Big Marley lie calmly side the steep cliffs, accompanied by each other. Calm and majestic, it makes you sincerely respect the nature.

Beautiful spot that has been spoiled by massive amounts of rubbish. There were overloaded bins, plastic bottles and bags everywhere. In the water, on the sand, on the paths leading down. Unbelievable how lazy some people can be. It is not hard to carry your rubbish back up to the car and take it home with you. Sadly I will not bring my children back here to swim.

We drove down through the Royal National Park to Wattamolla Beach. I hadn’t been there for probably 30 years.
The views from the cliff top over the creek and beach are beautiful. There is a new toilet block being built at present with an information area.
The old track down to the beach has been closed and a new one with great sandstone steps and stainless railing has been built further around.
We walked down to the beach which is lovely before heading out along a walkway to the lookout on the southern end if the bay.
There are lots of picnic tables and bbqs near the top and there are a couple of car parks. But may I suggest that if you intend heading out there in the weekend, head out early as it soon packs out.

Beautiful beach in the nature reserve. About 1 hour drive from Sydney. Make sure you pack food/drinks as there isn't a shop nearby.
Top tip:
Go early sim to be there at 9am. When the parking at the bottom becomes full they close the gate which means you need to walk for about 3.2km to get to the beach

No. The road is good but narrow.
