Great skydiving business. Both my older kids jumped with these guys. Had an awesome time. They both got the pics and videos pack. One of the videos had no sound but we are working with the to sort that out and get it fixed.
Really friendly bunch of people. Very covid conscious and safe.

Goodness knows what possessed the supremely risk-averse 50 year old that i am to book a skydive from 14000 ft but Sydney is such an exciting and beautiful place that it makes you do the unimaginable. Have read a somewhat negative comment about the leading Sydney skydive company on tripadvisor, i booked with 'skyfive the beach', also lured by their claim of being the only skydiving outfit in Sydney offering skydives over the coast. They offer a pick-up from near Sydney Central station which arrived promptly at 7 am. The road down to Wollongong takes just over an hour and passes through beautiful scenery. The office and landing point is two minutes from a beautiful beach with great cafe, etc so although there is a lot of waiting around involved, it's hardly hard work. On arrival, you get booked into a 'flight' (8 people + instructors per flight) and then get kitted up and given basic instructions on how to get out of the plane and land safely! A minibus then takes you to the airstrip some 20 minutes away, after you've been introduced to your very own skydiving buddy and off you go! The staff in the office and the instructors themselves were very friendly and cheerful and took very good care of everyone on the skydive, making it a great experience. I thoroughly recommend booking the 'DVD+photos' package, despite the additional expense, as the skydive itself is over in a blur and it's great to be able to relive the whole experience afterwards! The DVD was available within 30 minutes of the jump and was accompanied with another DVD with 400 or so stills from the video. The skydive itself is 'awesome' and one of the most exciting experiences you'll every have. Be warned that 14000 feet is much much higher than you imagine but the worse part for me was getting up there! Only small gripe about the organisation is that the six of us who travelled down on the shuttle from Sydney were divided up across three time slots 50 minutes apart which meant a very long wait for the shuttle back, but they did give me a lift to the station to catch the train back instead. Overall, an amazing experience and 'skydive the beach' are a great outfit to do it with. Look out for vouchers in the freebie tourist booklets for $30 off offers.

Throughout the my entire trip to Australia, this is the one that I was most excited about. The fact that it is close to Sydney, only 1.5hrs drive with some scenic views, & it has an excellent view while skydiving is a major plus point.

My instructor was Paul & he was so friendly, energetic & candid. I felt nervous at 1st as it's my 1st time & it didn't help that I was the 1st jumper but Paul helped me calm my nerves. Once I saw the view while skydiving, all my nervousness went away & was just totally amazed.

Definitely recommend everyone to take up the video package. They provide quite a smooth & flexible check in process. If we had more time, we definitely would have done a 2nd jump on the same day. A definite must try!

I did the jump and the jump was great. However, I booked the 1 pm time slot and jumped at 3pm. My instructor, a young guy, M, who seems to have racism (maybe he is not, but that's what I felt), he told me not to touch him and he said he dislike Asian.
His instruction was unclear as he did not give me any signal when I can expand my arms to enjoy the free fall while all my friends' instructors was nice and give them signal soon after jumping off the plane. (I got videos as proof)
Nevertheless, all my friends got the chance to take control of their own parachute while I was not offered. I understand different instructor got different style but something must be standardize for customer experience when you charge a high price.
Lastly, all my photos and video are bad, just 2 with my clear face with a very very very very small part of Wollongong, while most of them are shooting at the instructor's arm, his face, the back of my head, the parachute bag. All I want to say is if you charge such a high price, the instructor should be a good camera man while he is also a good diver.
Skydiving was great, it was exciting as my first jump, but the whole jump is unhappy for me as being discriminated, unrespected and the instructor just want to finish his job quick and take the day off sacrificing customer experience.

Skydiving is an amazing experience. "SkyDive The Beach" has a nice staff and instructors and is ideally located !
What is disappointing is to see that the company is monopolistic in NSW and can set abusive price without any moderation. I paid a 640AUD (discount price) for two tandem dives as a birthday gift for my girlfriend and expected it to be all inclusive.

I add to paid in extra:
> 30$/person for the insurance (not included) = 60$
> + 2.9% surcharge if you pay with a credit card (except prepaid-deposit) = 418$*0.029 = 12$
> 170$/person for a ~8 minutes non-professional video+photo raw footage.

I brought my GoPro for this special day, but could not use it for security reason.
The management explained me that I can ask my instructor to use his own (for 170$).
The reception explained me that instructors will not accept to use my own GoPro as this is their commission (170$* few dives/day = G$$d commission, isn'it ?)
TOTAL 640+412=1052

I loved the skydiving experience and will jump again in the future, but not with this company, this is a shocking juicy business.

My friends and I booked a jump for 4/7/14 at 8.00am. First thing to note is that you pay an increased rate for the weekend than the week but we work all week so this was our only option. We had to get up at 4am to make a 6.15am train to north wollongong from sydney CBD. During the week the company runs a shuttle bus from the CBD and back but on the weekends youre left to make your own way there despite paying a premium. Once we arrived we were dressed into the jumpsuits and harnesses, debriefed and in the van before they stopped and told us the jump was called off as it was too windy. The sun was shining, there was a light breeze but the clouds above were not even moving so we were highly disappointed. We did not recieve a single apology from any member of staff. We were told to wait around and keep checking back for a final decision instead of being told realistically that it wouldn't be possible. We spent from 7.45am until 12.30am waiting in the shoddiest, most basic facilities ever. The toilets were disgusting - two outside cubicle blocks that were dirty, one had no toilet seat and there was no toilet paper. There was nowhere to sit and wait except a tiny cramped room at the back of the reception with a hard uncomfy bench. The restaurant they mention on their site is a walk down the beach and nothing to do with the skydive complex, that is expensive with long queues. No customers jumped that day at all we later found out despite hanging about for hours.

When we were finally sick of waiting we were told we could rebook for the next day and told it looked more promising weatherwise. My friend was leaving for the U.K. the day after and wouldnt get a chance to come again so we agreed and booked for 11am.

This morning we woke at 7am and called and called and called the site, leaving multiple voice messages. We eventually got through to be told that the jumps were going ahead so we got the train to wollongong again - by now spending a combined total of 75 dollars on fare - only to receive a call 15 mins from our destination that the jumps were on a weather hold again. Once again it is glorious weather and the few clouds in the sky are not blowing at all. All the Instructors took off immediately and you don't see any of them again!

We have not recived a single apology from anybody here and the young blonde English girl behind reception had no compassion or sympathy at all when we complained! This company just hide begind legalities and terms and conditions clauses to fob you off. I understand safety issues can call off a jump (despite them being dubious) but when 3 young backpackers, one of whom is on their last weekend in Sydney, who work 50 hours a week only to waste 6 hours of a sunny weekend on a train and numerous hours in a field you would think they could arrange a refund and apologise. Instead they get all defensive and argumentative back with you! When we asked to speak to management we were told there was nobody to speak to on a sunday and given a generic email to contact if we wanted to take it further (info@skydive.co.au if anybody else needs it).

You only get a refund if you have a flight ticket as proof you are leaving and we were told this has to be in a week or so's time. Which leaves two of us who leave in november forced to get vouchers for a skydive we no longer want to do because the whole experience has been ruined and tarnished.

So utterly annoyed with their lack of organisation, compassion and customer care.

My review is for admin / customer service, specifically, "Hannah" who works there , who has been responding to me.
I paid for a 14,000 foot dive.

Bad weather affected the 14,000 foot dive that I paid for and we had to dive out at below 9000 feet.
I politely requested the price difference between a 10,000 foot dive and 14,000 dive be refunded to me which is roughly $40 or $50.

I obviously wouldn't expect an exactly 14,000 feet jump,
a difference of a few hundred feet or something, is reasonable :

...but a difference of more than 4000 feet is almost 1/3rd shorter jump for the same amount of money !
Pretty short freefall ! Very unsatisfying . Aka. not quite what was paid for .

I'm not complaining about following safety procedures.
But I do want what I paid for. In this case, the SMALL price difference refunded to me.

I am interested to know if the company also keep people's deposits and pre-payments when they have to cancel dives altogether due to bad weather?
That would be good to know !!!

But I reckon requesting a refund of the roughly $50 difference between a 10,000 foot jump and a 14,000 foot jump is pretty reasonable to request and no big deal,
considering I travelled from Sydney to Wollongong to dive with them .

It's hardly my fault the weather affected the jump,
and I'm not sure why I should be made to pay the difference between a far shorter jump !
Not great service, really.

It's like getting 2/3rds of what was paid for !

My request was refused numerous times through my polite emails requesting.

[My tandem guy was good though. Thanks CJ !]

As far as I'm concerned, I'm going to leave more bad reviews now, and they can refund more money than I originally requested if they want the bad reviews taken down or edited.

Jump was cancelled due to weather, totally understandable. When trying to reschedule the company refuses to adhere to terms and conditions as per their own webpage that states 'to be rescheduled to a date that suits you'. There was no understanding for time taken off work or any form of polite customer service. Just a plain no and we do as we please. I had purchased a midweek jump but needed to reschedule to a weekend to be able to fit in with other commitments. Very disappointing and extremely unfriendly staff.

My girlfriend and I arrived at Wollongong an hour and a half before we were supposed to jump (10:30am) and were told that they were running behind schedule. We were told to wait around for an hour and "chill". We consistently were told throughout the day that there were people in front of us and that we were "at least an hour away from jumping". At 5pm, they cancelled our whole jump, after we had spent the whole 6.5 hour period waiting around. They said that "three instructors didnt want to jump any more today." It was incredibly annoying as we had taken a day of annual leave for it, as it was our anniversary, and had to drive 3 hours to get there. I will never give these people another cent of money. The customer service was also terrible and the girls behind the counter were awfully rude.

Skydiving is amazing, just don't do it with these people. Their first priority might be safety, but their close second priority is clearly to pump as many people through as possible while making as much opportunistic money off you as possible.
They charge an absolute fortune in weekend fees, weight surcharges, sky high fees for photos / videos (which are simple GoPro cameras on the instructor's wrist) and they just don't care about customer communication and don't stick to the times they give you.

These guys just want to make money and are clearly not interested in good customer experiences in the process.....

The being said, Luke the instructor was a great guy and skydiving itself is awesome and everyone should try it!!!!!
