There is something for everyone here. The museum is well laid out and items are displayed very well. I’ve been to many similar museums but this has been the best. I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

This place is absolutely beautiful. A gorgeous touch of history. It was like entering through a door and going back in time. There are so so many details on everything explaining what things are from what time period, you can get lost in there for hours reading up about port macquarie's incredible history. $5 entry! $5 i can not believe it was that cheap to enter. Great for all ages will definitely be back when I'm in the area next. Shout out to all the amazing team there who have obviously worked so hard on putting together such a spectacular display. I had a wonderful time thanks so much.

Yes...it’s bigger and a lot better than you think. Just follow the arrows on the floor and the stories continue to unfold. You can easily spend two hours here as there is plenty to see. It’s COVIDSafe with simple check in and good distancing measures in place. A good number of the artifacts have been donated by locals so it represents a good balance of historic interest and local social affairs. The man at the entry was very informative and worth quizzing as you check in. All in all a good afternoon adventure if the weather is too hot or too wet.

This museum is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers and cover the Port Macquarie history from convict beginnings to very recent times. It details the early settlement v aboriginal resistance, the later convict era and backs it up with fine photos and articles donated by many people from Port Macquarie.

This volunteer run museum features a good range of exhibits telling the history of Port Macquarie. It has an array of older and more recent artifacts donated by local people. We liked the thematic approach to the displays and well written captions. Well worth a visit.

Thanks for posting a review. We are very pleased that you liked our thematic approach and captions, as we spend a lot of time researching our collection so that we can share its stories with you. Our limited space means we can only display a small selection of our collection at any given time, so we regularly update and change our exhibits. We look forward to welcoming you back when you are next in Port.
