We like big reds and Peterson’s delivered. Our wine pourer, Reika, was knowledgeable and fun. It added to a great experience. We highly recommend a visit.

Largest presentation of Sparkling Wines that I have seen anywhere in my life from a vineyard! We were allowed five samples for our tasting. It was hard to select so we selected some different ones besides similar ones we were especially excited to sample. Alison was our winestaff expert and she was very impressive with her knowledge. Another winestaff member, Zac, was also knowledgeable and helped us when Alison was helping others. Later, we met Lincoln, the manager I think. They all treated us first time customers to their Wine Tasting Room as old friends. Beautiful inside and outside areas for the samplings overlooking a pond and vineyard. We ended up buying a Sparkling Red Shiraz; a Sparkling White Semillon that was bottled in 2007.

We were just winging it with vineyards on our anniversary and were told to come on in. Had a lovely hour tasting reds, laughing and chatting to Catherine and Dee about life and wine. So friendly. They were all good, some from HV, some from Mudgee. Left with a bottle to drink anytime and one to keep for the next special occasion. Recommend

Peterson wine was a pleasant stop, advertising some of the best red wines in the Hunter Valley. Not too busy when we visited - sat down right by the tasting area. 5 wines for $10. Our server was relatively new so just the standard info unfortunately but very lovely and helpful.

This winery is a must to visit.. We were looked after by Sarah, who was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and looked after us incredibly well.
The Mudgee reds are delectable as is the 2014 Botrytis Semillon and the Hunter Valley 2018 Shiraz.

After a few days of wine tasting, we're gravitating to the smaller, personalised wineries...away from the impersonal cash grab / hard sell brand names. Sarah was a great host...and human!

My partner and I spent a weekend in the Hunter hopping from one cellar door to the next (9 in total). More like a stagger by the end rather than a hop!

Our last stop was to Petersons Wines on Broke Road. What an amazing experience. Our host Kathryn was amazing. A lot of the cellar doors that we went to were more like a turn style experience, however, Kathryn was so accommodating that we did not want to leave.

The wines at Petersons were fantastic. It was the only place we visited where we enjoyed everything they had to offer. Can’t wait to come back next time we are in the Hunter.
