Sam was a great tasting host -friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful views. You need to book and pay upfront- you don’t get the tasting fee back when you purchase and unlike Lucy’s run, there’s no nibble platter included in the experience.

Thank you for your recent visit and review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed our service and our beautiful views. As mentioned in your review we are requesting for guests to book in and pay for their seated wine experiences as our building is quite small and we are required to comply with the current Covid restrictions for our customers and our teams safety.

Had the pleasure of a personal tastes great with Bel yesterday. It was a pleasant afternoon sitting on the balcony overlooking the vines. Our cheese platter was delicious and Bel’s knowledge of the wines informative. I would highly recommend joining the wine club. Great experience. Can’t wait to come back.

A friend and I were served by Lewis, it was a standard wine tasting. His knowledge of the wines was exemplary, he was quite engaging and we shared a few personal stories together. Due to a great experience and the quality of the wine, I became a member of the wine club that day. Thanks for a wonderful and engaging afternoon

Apologies for not remembering the gentleman's name who was of South African origin but he was very engaging, very informative and consequently I had $100 less in my bank account when I drove away. We were lucky that we were able to slot into a tasting session and looking over the Ivanhoe vineyard it was such a lovely way to sample the products. (Not so much me but my 2 daughters).

I have been visiting Ivanhoe for the last couple of years. I often get a family visit and friends from overseas, Hunter Valley is a good place for tourists, first thing mostly one of our stop for a wine tasting is Ivanhoe.
The staff of Ivanhoe are so friendly and informative specially Jonathan he makes you feel welcome, if you’re not a wine person you end up amazed the way Jonathan entertains.

We are regular visitors to the Hunter Valley and Ivanhoe wines is the best find of our most recent trip. It is a true gem, and we would certainly place it in our top 10 favourite cellar door experiences in the Hunter. A fantastic view, excellent wines and a welcoming atmosphere. Kellie was warm, informative, and efficient in running our tasting. She and all other staff present were also absolutely lovely with our little dog Kirby, making us feel very welcome with the dog and even bringing him a container of water. It was definitely a highlight of the trip, and we will be back next time!

This was the worst wine tasting experience in my life. The wines were unpalatable and the staff member serving us extremely rude. When I complained about the wine tasting portion he then lessened it for me but not the others with me and this was noted by them all. We had to pay $10 each for the worst wine tasting experience of our lives.

Thank you for your review. However it is disappointing to see that you have failed to include a number of details regarding your experience.
Your group of 4 visited us on Saturday 25/2/23 at approximately 1130am-12pm. You arrived without a booking and abruptly demanded a tasting from our staff members. Although we were busy, we kindly accommodated your group on the main veranda.
Throughout the tasting, one member of your group was abusive, dismissive and extremely demanding of the staff member hosting your tasting. It is also worth noting that you referred to our staff member as "incestuous" when he mentioned his family heritage and connection to the winery.
The staff member hosting your tasting advised you that under RSA law, a 30ml pour is standard for wine tastings and we offer a tasting of 6 wines. He actually poured 8 wines for your group with the aim of helping you find a wine you would enjoy.
The $10 tasting charge is to cover the rising costs associated with hosting wine tastings and running a small business, including taxes and the wage costs.
It is a shame that you felt our service and wines were not up to standard, however given the cruel behaviour of your group, we did the best we could.

This was our first stop upon coming to Hunter Valley and we were not disappointed. Jonathan did a fabulous job with our tasting. He spent time understanding what we liked and yet challenged us to try new wines as well. It was amazing. I would highly recommend it.

We had a wine tasting with Kylie on Saturday afternoon and she has to be one of the most engaging, friendly and experienced employees of this vineyard! She took the time to understand our preferences in wine and gave us wines to sample accordingly. We bought a few bottles and when we came back the following day to purchase an aerator, she remembered us and asked how our weekend was going. Such a lovely person and she went above and beyond to make our visit great.

We absolutely loved this place. The views were amazing and the Wine was great. Johnathon looked after us and was absolutely amazing to deal with. We aren’t big wine drinkers and he really took his time to explain things to us and find the best suited wines for us. An amazing place , would definitely recommend and visit again!

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. You do not need to book for a tasting, but it is a great idea to if you can. This allows us to ensure we have the right about of team members on and schedule tastings so everyone gets the best possible service.
Also depending on the weather, our best seats are out on the verandah overlooking the vineyard and we would ensure to save a great seat for you both. Ph 02 4998 7325 if you would like to book in. Tracy Drayton

i visted ivanhoe winery about 4 years ago with my wife . i bought 6 bottles of a red wine you had that was very fruity . i loved it but cant remember the name .
