Lovely people, large amount of cheese. Great wines to taste.
Have been a member for many years but haven’t been to the cellar door for tasting for 3 years. Went with a group of 6 for my husbands birthday but had to pay $40 for two tastings (4 were free). If I compare this to Peppertree and first Creek who had no limits on numbers, provided many more wines to taste and cheese for 6 of us free of charge (for members) Scarborough we’re the worst performers- the rest also had a dedicated person to take us through the wines and spent more time with us. It would be better to have a a set amount of tasting a per year e.g 8/10 free tastings per year. I love Scarborough wines but disappointed on this experience.

Hi Cath,
Thank you for taking the time to review your tasting with us. I am sorry that you were disappointed to have to pay for 2 of your guests, every time you visit you and 3 guests will receive a complimentary tasting, so you can visit us as often as you would like. Unfortunately we are unable to have 1 server per group in busy periods and weekends but we do try our hardest to ensure that you have personalised service regardless. We look forward to seeing you when you next visit us. Cheers Sally Scarborough

Living in Hunter Valley and having a lot of free time, my wife and I have been to pretty much every cellar door offering wine tasting in Hunter Valley. We have whittled them down to our favourites and today we returned to our favourite for Valentines Day to find the experience has improved even further since our previous visit.
While waiting briefly for our table to be prepared, we were asked to wait out the back with the lovely views and atmosphere, perfect for the obligatory Facebook pictures. From there Liam, our host took us to our own private alcove and table with 7 wines and a matching cheese platter laid out with lovely views out of our window.
Liam explained the wines and cheese matches very well, returning after every 2 glasses to update us on the next 2 wines. The wines were all lovely, though my wife and I each preferred different wines in each pair, but we both agreed the cheese platter matched the wines perfectly.
The wine and cheese tasting experience here is just so much better than the usual wine tastings where you stand awkwardly at a bar and point to different wines to have a taste of while waiting for the bar man to get to you. It is $20 each for this wine tasting , but it is well worth it in so many ways. It certainly made our Valentines Day special after a disappointing lunch at another location.

A tasting menu WINE LOVERS. A diverse collection with many tasting styles.
Very enjoyable and Dan the host today, was knowledgeable and friendly. Dan worked through the menu with cheeses to compliment the wines.
Really enjoyed my time with a newer room and atmosphere, that is very comfortable for a intimate experience.
Larger groups are welcomed and served in a different room, with a special atmosphere.
Always well worth a visit.
Well done 👍

A fantastic experience at this beautiful winery. The staff member, Ellen, made us feel very welcome and gave us a rich and informative session with these beautiful wines. The wines we tasted were thoughtfully prepared with labels in their own small bottles which meant we could bring some away to re-taste later. The cheese platter served was the perfect accompaniment. This was worth every cent and we will definitely be back - it was the highlight of all of our wine tastings.

I am biased as these guys make the best Chardonnay for everyday drinking. But this was an experience and journey about their Obsessive Range with five friends. There are other options but we did the 1hour experience guided by Beatrice. Complemented by appropriate cheeses I would recommend the journey to all wanting to taste great wine and obtain some education on the finer points of vinification.

One cannot visit the Hunter without experiencing the Wine Tasting from the Scarborough Vineyards. The wine pairing with the different cheeses was superb, and was accompanied by knowledgable information on the various wines. It was the highlight of our three day trip and we will definitely be back to purchase more of their wonderful wines

We were a group of 4, plus 2 children, without a booking on a Saturday and were made to feel most welcome and provided with excellent service and an outstanding tasting experience. With some quality wines, red and white, to taste, along with cheese and biscuits, for $20pp, this was a value experience. We were told tasting would take around 45 minutes to an hour. It was not rushed, was informative and enjoyable. Undertaken with very good Covid practices, including temperature checks and excellent social distancing. The old farmhouse is lovingly restored and maintained, gardens and vineyards offer stunning views, and wine is high quality. The Hunter experience at its best.

Our experience at Scarborough was fantastic. From the staff, to the tasting and of course the beautiful scenery. We have 4 children under the age of 5 who were giving some drawing and were also allowed to go out to the grass area for a play and were able to kick a ball around. Thank you for a wonderful experience and for being so accommodating for a family with small children. The wine was divine. We cannot wait to return one day.

A stunning location, combined with friendly service and great wine, makes Scarborough hard to beat as a wine tasting experience.
I’ve been a fan for a long time and was excited to taste some new wines. One of my favourite Hunter Wineries.

Always a pleasure to visit Scarborough Wines in the Hunter Valley. The venue is outstanding , the service is professional , interesting and the friendly staff always display a sound knowledge of the wines for sale.
The wines are amazing and very reasonably priced . I rate their Chardonnay and Shiraz amongst the best in the Valley.

What's the difference between the Gillards vs Hermitage? Anyone have a preference?
A small group of out of towners are visiting the HV for one day and have Scarborough on our list.

Gillard is the original, very picturesque and far more intimate. Hermitage is newer and built far more for the tourist trade. Same style of tasting experience but go for Gillards......enjoy
