Great tasting wines and a friendly knowledgeable staff. The cellar door is really in the cellar which makes the tasting feel more "authentic". Their specialty are big bold reds so if that's your style, this is the place to visit!

I almost don’t want to write this review because I want all their wine for myself! You won’t find this in any bottle shop. Its all sold to members (like me for past 4 years) and visitors. This is without a doubt the best wine in the area for reds. Nobody else comes close. If you like your reds big and smooth then you wont be disappointed. Pigs blood and House of sticks at $29 a bottle are great but push the boat out and try Wolfie or Geez Louise at $46 a bottle and you will be hooked for life… and buy a mixed dozen and you get one free. Nice touch

I have to say I am not a big wine drinker but this winery has changed that. Such an amazing location. Wine tasting in the garden is perfect and Andrew was so knowledgeable. Let's just say between us 4 ladies we walked out of there with a lot of bottles. This one can not be missed.

This is the first Winery we went to that didn't push the wine sale. It was all about the tasting of the wines which is how it should be.
Open and honest, our guide (Peter I think) was awesome, he knew the strengths of the wineries and the limitations.
Jenny was absolutely awesome on the phone and helped as so much.
Keep up the great work.

Great and very interesting wine tasting here. Our host was very knowledgeable and passionate about the gorgeous wines here - and rightly so!
We had a tour round the wine making experience, and learnt such a lot.
Thank you all for looking after us - we really enjoyed it. And loved your wines!

We really enjoyed our wine tasting experience here, Alex was very welcoming and knowledgeable.
They have brought wines together from all over Australia. Some of the blended wines were excellent, including the Durif .
The deliverance red wine was outstanding and we had to purchase some to enjoy later. The Suckling Pig Shiraz desert wine was delicious.
We would highly recommend visiting this cellar door.

We went to Piggs Peake and would definitely say it was the highlight of the weekend. The tasting offered is currently free and quite extensive. Their staff are super friendly and know a lot about all the products. We had Sam and he was funny and witty and definitely impressed our group with his knowledge on the wines. The tasting happens in the wine shed where they actually make the wines which creates an amazing atmosphere. Piggs Peake offer a great variety of wines, from whites, reds sparkling and sweets. I will definitely be going back here again on my next visit.

Despite the lovely landscaping our visit was more than disappointing. The male at the cellar door needs some training in customer service. We arrived as a party of 6 and he appeared displeased that we didn’t have a booking ( Monday morning with only 2 other people wine tasting). As the only non drinker in our group, I asked if they had any zero alcohol in their range, his response was very condescending and belittling. His demeanor during the wine tasting was one of disinterest, and as also noticed eye rolling when asked a question. My husband bought 3 bottles of wine ( a $120 purchase) and on paying, 2 bags were slapped on the counter and he was told to bag his own wine. Certainly, this was a very unsatisfactory experience and solely due to the frontman at the cellar door. Our friends had previously visited this winery in the past and loved it, but they all agreed that they would not bother going next time they were in the Hunter Valley.

The cellar door experience was interesting, and seemed to be unique among all the others we visited that day. Tastings are done in the big warehouse with all the barrels, so it had a different feel to all the others - a little more industrial, like we were really surrounded by all the winemaking.

We came on a very busy day so while the staff were very friendly, they tended to pour our glasses then disappear to another group so it felt a little disjointed. Staff were very knowledgable and happy to answer all our questions, which made the experience a little more interesting and educational for us.

The wines were really nice and we loved all the pun names - such a cute touch!

Fantastic visit. Loved that all their wines have "pig related" names. Emily took us though several wines explaining where the grapes are sourced from and the tastes we could expect. We were lucky enough to meet Steve (head wine maker) and his old dog, and he took my wife and I out the back and gave us a sample of their lovely cab. sav direct from the vat, and then showed us where and how he makes his champagne and explained the process. We certainly appreciated him taking the time to do this. A great morning, and certainly worth a visit and a taste of their excellent wines.
