I visited three wineries. In my opinion, Piggs Peake Wines has superb wines and superlative, informative customer service. And the clever, creative porcine naming of their wines is an added bonus. I thought that Audrey Wilkinson Vineyard has good wines with superlative, informative customer service. I was less impressed with Thomas Allen Wines. Granted, they have been in business for... More

Good food, excellent service & a pleasant venues. The only place that was lacking in knowledge & customer service was the Smelly Cheese Co. The Cheese shop at McGuigans was far more personable & & extremely knowledgable. Peppers Winery & Coffe shop was outstanding. A must winery in the Hunter valley. If you like Latino style of wines this us for you. Pinot Grigio, barberra are standouts . The staff are truly warm, informative, helpful. The way they present is first class, passionate,

They may have "open doors" but their wines can be found in most liquor stores and they have nothing special ONLY of door tastings

There's so many great places to visit, each time we come here we try and visit new vineyards but there's ones you have to keep going back too and this list seems to keep growing; great place for a weekend away. Vineyards we would love to visit again - peter son house, piggy Peake, briar ridge, Lucy's run, Audrey wilkinson,... More

We visited the Gun Dog Boutique winery in the lower Hunter Valley. The wines were really exceptional and it was hard to make a choice from our tasting. However we did find some that we bought and enjoyed during our stay in Australia. Would definitely recommend this small winery. It is a treat to go to the small places rather... More

My favourite wineries - Allandale - fantastic friendly winemaker, great Chardonnay, Sparkling Gewurtz, all were good. Scarborough - great Chardonnay, Verdehlo and Pinot Noir. Petersons Champagne House - did a nice sparkling dessert wine. Tyrells - yes it's a large commercial one, but the tour was excellent and informative, plus plenty of helpful staff to give you tastings. Brokenwood -... More

What a beautiful area, most wineries are lovely especially the ones with local produce. A few outstanding were Peterson, Tempt, Kevin Sobels, Scarborough, Audrey Wilkinson, we love these boutique rather than the larger commercial ones. A great time had by all.
