I went to this place recently with young children and accidentally dropped a small block of chocolate, as i went to put it back an older man approached me. I apologised for dropping the chocolate but instead he said back in a aggressive voice “you didn’t accidentally drop this, it was on purpose so go pay for it now”. I was shocked that i was approached in this was. I was sorry and am happy to pay for it but he could’ve spoke in a nicer matter especially in front of young children that got scared. It was also just an unpleasant environment to be in and the chocolate was way overpriced. After i brought the chocolate i walked out straight away even through i was planning on staying for a hot chocolate. I definitely do not recommend going to this place especially with the type of service they provide to their customers.
Never going back again!

Hunter Valley Chocolate Company management need to get their act together.
Besides being overpriced (the age-old “prices in the Hunter are higher” nonsense doesn’t work), the staff give the impression they are doing you a favour by allowing you to be there! The rudeness is unacceptable. Yes, it was Australia Day – is that an excuse?
The most outrageous thing of all is the small packet of chocolate we bought branded “Aussie Favourites”. The label reads “Made in Australia from less than 10% Australian ingredients!” Repeat – less than 10% Australian ingredients. I have included a photograph as you wouldn’t believe this otherwise!

Came in with my friend and combined children around 4.20pm. It was quite busy so when I spotted a table that just became available, I sat down to hold a table while my friend lined up to make their order. Once they came back I lined up to order coffees for my family, however when I got to the front of the line at 4.26pm I was told the kitchen was closed and no coffees were available. I explained that I came as part of a group and my friend had just been able to order minutes earlier. An older man who I assumed was the manager then started shouting at me and telling me to get lost. Extremely rude and inappropriate. I will never be back that's for sure. I don't know how they have any customers at all with that attitude. For the record their opening hours are until 5pm not 4.25pm.

Been here a lot over the years and watched the premises expand to something really decent.
Goods on sale appear great albeit expensive and really now catering to bus loads of tourists. All good from my perspective - I would be inclined to be doing the same considering the appeal of their chocolate and confectionery.
But the coffee would have to be the worst I’ve had in a long time. Warm milk basically and and at $5.00 for a regular it was a dead set rort. Embarrassingly bad
Go for the sweets but avoid the coffee at all costs

Was screamed as we walked in because one of our party was holding a takeaway coffee cup with no lid. The male who worked there yelled “I don’t want to clean up your mess”. Obviously, we turned on our heels and walked right back out.
I urge others to enter with caution.

Rude and discriminating against Asian!! We have been to many chocolate factories but this one is the worst. We bought some chocolates and sat at an empty sitting area to enjoy the chocolates. However, a middle man came over and accused us for not buying anything from the chocolate factory and drinking “tea” from our thermal flask. In fact, we were just trying to wash down the chocolates we ate with our drinking water from thermal flask. There are much better chocolate factories elsewhere. Not worth visiting…

We called in here in the afternoon for a coffee. We had been here before but there is such a good variety of items on offer that it is worth visiting again. There is a good range of Belgian Chocolates and Fudge which is all made on site and a good range of local produce for sale. There is also a little cafe where you can enjoy and coffee.

The store did not have much stock due to covid and school holidays so we weren’t able to buy the good stuff. Bought a few random things which were ok. The vanilla fudge is nice. Staff were busy/not very polite and customers did not follow social distancing.

typical wine area chocholate factory. Good chocholate is never cheap though.
Interseting stop for a chocholate fix. They have an assortment of other stuff as well.
Might as well drop in if you are passing

Visited today and bought some chocolates and fudge. No tastings were available which is a little disappointing to start with. The chocolate was ok but I have had better options and flavours. The fudge was terrible, it was just hard sugar. The sugar had obviously not been rendered down properly. Won’t be going again.
