Did the cellar door wine tasting here, which was great. The hosts were lovely, and our family dog who was travelling with us was also warmly welcomed. Great deals on site for wine purchases.

De Bortoli wines is the first winery on Wine Country Drive.
We stopped there first and wow it was a great first taste testing stop. Very welcoming and friendly staff with great knowledge of the history of their wine. Tried a range of wines and well we ended up leaving with a few bottles.
Highly recommend stopping and doing a taste testing.

Since De Bortoli Wines was only a few steps away from our accommodation but wasn't included in the wineries that we visited, we asked them for an appointment for a wine tasting. The next afternoon a very serious gentleman was waiting for us. First, he let us wander around in the vast demonstration cellar that showed countless wines and other products. Even without tasting, I picked up a few bottles that I chose to buy. The Muscat gel, which is a fairly new product, also piqued my interest, so I also took two different varieties from it. After the voyage of discovery, wine tasting began, which made my wallet thinner again. After the description and tasting, there were a couple of wines we couldn’t resist.
Yesterday we opened a Wilderness estate Campfire red wine for dinner. It was already a pleasure to observe the excellent deep ruby color in our glass. With the food, the rich taste of the velvety smooth Merlot came out much better than when we just tasted one wine after another. Unfortunately, we took the 2018 vintage, not the best-rated 2016. Never mind next time. Today is La Bossa Pink Moscato next up. During the tasting, I felt I had to take a bottle of this as well. Today we'll see if I was right? Don’t miss this cellar if you’re in Pokolbin. We had a delightful afternoon there.

I was really looking forward to tasting here but it wasn’t that good. The lady that serviced us was funny and nice but we felt she wasn’t attentive nor have the knowledge like other places. We said there was a first timer but she didn’t explain the basics..

We were made to feel welcome by the gentleman, and while we were certain of the wines we wanted to try he was full of knowledge and stories about the wine/winery/area.
Bought 4 bottles and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

While the staff were welcoming, the whole experience was spoilt by the tasting rules and regulations. We were firstly invited to view the wine display but then found you could not taste what you saw. Instead you could taste some wines for free, some for a small cost and others for a increased cost. You couldn't mix and match and you could only taste the specified wines. It was all a bit too hard to be bothered with, with so many other great cellar doors around.

We had booked a tasting but were told they don’t take bookings on the weekend, so it would b best to confirm. Thankfully they were still able to accommodate us and they went over and above to give us the experience.
It was great we had a great time. Would recommend.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledge team member Bob. This is all whilst we walked in defientaly not dressed as usual wine testers with 3 younger kids in toe.(boardies single and thongs) we went for a quick walk through the cellar to come back to some wine tasting. As we are not wine drinkers Bob took a fair amount of time to explain the differences. In this time he noticed the kids being kids and involved them in the experience. Could not recommend more.
