About
The little gem you were hoping to find! Small, family owned, old vines planted last century, hand picked, limited production, friendly and refreshingly non-commercial. Free tastings. This had to be my favourite winery I visited on a recent trip to the Hunter Valley with friends. Glen was a super kind and lovely host, and looked after our large group like we were family. The small, low-key nature of the cellar door was adorable. The wines are also amazing. I'm pretty sure our group came close to buying him out on the day.
Very worth the travel out there and will be sure to let everyone know what an amazing place it is.

I have been enjoying the Pokolbin Brothers Winery since 2008. Every single one of my trips to the Hunter excludes a stop here. Glen and Ron are great blokes who love wine, love to chat with customers, and make wine drinking fun. This is also the home of the Grapemobile bicycle rentals, but you are MISSING OUT if you don’t pop over to have a sip or two of some delicious wines. Thank you Guys for delivering another great Pokolbin experience!

Love this place and will be back! Bikes were amazing! We went the electric and never looked back. Glen is an amazing host and we couldn’t get enough of the Cabernet merlot or muscat! Not a chardy lover but left with a bottle. Highly recommend ❤️

Glen was an absolutely sweetheart of the host, and was so chatty and lovely to talk to. He was also very helpful when our friend had heatstroke and so accommodating. The wine was also amazing. We will definitely be back!! Jasper is also the cutest dog!

Was made to feel welcome from the first moment I stepped into this gorgeous family owned and run vineyard. The coffee is superb and nothing is too much trouble for these guys. They will go out of their way to help with set-up of bikes, maps and even a picnic if you wish. Their wines are some of the best that I have had. Can't wait to get back there to enjoy the atmosphere and friendly personalities.

We had gone to 2 previous wineries that were excellent and then came to this one and the customer service was poor. Extremely limited variety as we were only given 1 red to try and 2 whites with no explanation and small tasters. The slushies were the highlight.

The New South Wales Responsible Service of Alcohol provisions require us to promote the safe service and consumption of alcohol, and refuse service of alcohol to any patron showing signs of being unduly intoxicated.
Slushies, soft drinks and free water are available as an alternative to full strength wine.
Our staff are trained to avoid confrontation with affected patrons after service of alcohol has been limited or refused.
Threats of issuing a 'bad' Tripadvisor report if drinking demands are not met cannot affect or change our obligations under the law, nor our community obligation to promote the safe service & consumption of alcohol.
It is usually possible for patrons to visit a number of wineries for the purpose of wine tasting, and to enjoy the experience of learning about wine at its source, if wine is served in small tasting portions as intended, and consumed responsibly.
Any patrons intending to visit our winery should consider that, although we continue to be happy providing free wine tastings and information regarding our products and the wine making process, we provide free wine tastings to help in the deliberation process for wine purchasing. We should therefore never be regarded as a 'free drinks' venue.

My partner and I went for a short walk from our accommodation to stumble upon this hidden gem. We were greeted with a huge smile from Glen the owner to be told "like to try a wine? I don't even care if you don't buy it!". This set the tone for the stories of his life while tasting his great wine - not to mention the slurpees (try the beer one). Absolute legend. Worth the visit even if you don't enjoy wine at all.

Found this estate by mistake while looking for somewhere for coffee. Great coffee... I'm told by my partner, but I was too busy tasting great wines and slushies. Small barn but great inside, owner really friendly and helpful. Agree with other reviewers, the muscato is to die for. Didn't want to leave

Their Muscat is to die for, even better is how they let you taste test.
We always stop in when we are in the Hunter Valley to pick up a Muscat or their lovely Muscato.

What an awesome start to our hunter valley with Glen picking us up from our resort and taking us to the bike shed/cellar door :)
Glen has such a great sense of humor and was so accommodating! His customer service is outstanding as are his wines!
You must try the Muscat ice-cream and the wine slushy!
Grab a bike and follow the map glen drew himself!
We loved our experience biking from vineyard to vineyard!
Thanks glen, see you again!
