Lake Canobolas is a beautiful spot on the outskirts of Orange, well worth the drive. The proprietor of the newly opened Lakeshore Cafe is very friendly and serves great coffee. I'd highly recommend the date scones. It's open every day 7am to 5pm during the...More

Totally pretty location wether you are after water sports a group gathering or just the 2 of you for a picnic 🧺 this is so nice. There is a huge playground for the kids and really nice walks. Fantastic outdoor hangout.

We took a picnic lunch to share for our wedding anniversary. It was mid week so not really any one else there. The lake was lovely but lacking rain fall.

Lake itself is quite pretty with some fall foliage trees by it. Many locals were doing some family activities around it. There is short and flat trail surrounding the lake. Suitable for biking too. Not bad for morning walk or biking!

Due to no rain in the area it was not the most pleasant place to visit. Looked a bit like a cesspit and can't believe people were swimming in it. I hope Orange gets some rain soon, they sorely need it.

beach either side of the weir looks great for a swim but by early April when we visited, probably only for the intrepid. great picnic spot with friendly currawongs and magnificent autumn colours.. easy stop along the wine trail that winds around the lake..

Even though there is a severe drought in Central NSW, Lake Canobolas is a lovely place to visit and take a walk cross the weir. still has plenty of water making it a lovely peaceful location.

Cruising around and found this park - lovely place for a stroll and coffee. Walked across the weir over to the old pumphouse. Good place for a family picnic

Great place for a picnic or in summer a swim. On the drive up to Mount Canobolas and worth a stop in.

Hi, I'm quite certain you can only get there via taxis which will cost quite a bit. I don't think a bus runs that far out.
