Our manager always comes up with different things to do for our work Christmas party. In 2014 he decided that we would attend Slice Virtual Golf in King St Newcastle. As a non player, I was not terribly excited about this, but it was explained that they were licensed and they served pizza so what the hell. When I arrived I was blown away by the individual "courses" - big screens and people belting golf balls down virtual fairways with real clubs.
The rest of our staff arrived and were divided into various golf skill/experience levels and each group allocated a "course". The management and staff were fantastic - explaining the technology and demonstrating the system. They were on hand all afternoon to assist, explain and man the bar.
After everyone was settled the pizza started arriving - enormous rectangular wooden serving trays with the most delicious combinations of toppings. Everyong tucked in between golf strokes and the banter and camaraderie increased as the afternoon progressed. As some of the more experienced groups finished, the staff set one booth up for a "longest drive" competition - heaps of fun for player and spectator alike.
I would recommend Slice for golf wannabes, novices and the more experienced players - there is something there for all levels of skill and even spectators, with bar facilities, great staff and good tucker.

A group of us decided to have a crack at slice virtual golf. The facilities are good, and as promised you play a virtual round of golf. Driving, chipping and putting the ball into the screen to give that lifelike experience. Reasonably priced and lots of fun, I’ll be back for another go!

Spent an hour playing and having lunch at Slice and was presently surprised at the amount of fun we all had. My golf skills are nonexistent, however, I managed to have a great time with my Dad and brother. Nice pizza and great bar as well. Affordable for groups as you pay per hour for each area.

Found this place by accident when searching for a good place to have a beer. What a great idea these guys have! Pay by the hour to play virtual golf. The staff will make sure you're all set up and know what you're doing, then you're off on the course. Had a great time here, would definitely recommend.

Hubby & I decided to visit Slice after a last minute night away without the kiddies - it was a lot of fun! The guy behind the counter was really helpful, talked us through it all then left us to our own for a bit of fun (though he was on hand whenever we needed him). Really enjoyed the night, had a few beers, an antipasto plate & a pizza. The chef came out to ask if we wanted to hold the pizza back while we continued with the antipasto plate which was great. When he brought the pizza out after we'd finished the plate it was fresh, hot and really delicious! We had a great night. Certainly recommend it.

We had such a great time playing St Andrews and Augusta on the virtual screen while having schooners and pizza. Customer service was second to none, Shanae was amazing ❤️ Will definitely be back...

We popped in having seen people playing through the window and thought we would try it out. The staff were lovely (especially the lady whose mum was from Leeds). This is fun so give it a go if you’ve not tried it before, it’s inexpensive and the beers aren’t priced too badly either!

We booked in for a Thursday evening expecting to be able to order pizza. The guy who took my booking a couple of nights before was friendly enough but didn't,t mention that there would be no food available on the night. Then when we arrived to play, again the staff on the counter didn't mention there was no food. We didn't realise the kitchen wasn't operating until about 20 minutes into our game when we decided to get food. For a venue that promotes itself as "Pizza and golf", we were quite disappointed...and hungry!!
