Great day destination , walk up the breakwall with great views of the Harbour , Stockton and up the beach towards Anna Bay , Ship movements always put a different perspective on your view.
Then walking back around the beachside of the Lighthouse . All good . The Kiosk had a good burger and watermelon juice , seafood looked ok too ... maybe next time ... after that we meandered around to Newy Baths [ pretty big swell on the day and beaches were closed]
definitely do it again

Nobbys Beach Newcastle one the many beaches of Newcastle NSW Australia. Popular for swimming, surfing, kitesurfing, beach volleyball, beachwalking or just to sunbake. Easily accessible plenty of parking. There is a Kiosk for food and beverages. Toilets and showers available.

Quite a large beach in Newcastle. Can take dogs (and kids!). There's a nice walk beside the beach to the light house too. Beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the day- swim between the flags~

Went here with the family and really enjoyed our day. Beach was really nice and clean beautiful sand good waves. The walk to the end of the break wall was also a highlight great views took some nice pictures and even saw dolphins swimming in front of the tug boat and at the end of the break wall surfacing close. Great day at Nobby's.

A really impressive beach with great views, a nice cafe and life guards on duty. Around the precinct is a large grassed area, playgrounds and a basketball hoop. A great way to spend an enjoyable afternoon.

Nice place to go in Newcastle. The sand is fine and does not stick on your feet. Nice to play on the beach , walk the dog, sit on the fine sand and watch the waves. Or stroll up the lighthouse.
Worth going ! Got my vote

Visited Nobbys 030118. Great beach, convenient location. However please note: there is only one outdoor shower station for the whole beach and NO male or female change rooms. Apparently Nobbys Beach was voted state winner of the Friendly Beach Award in 2008. Must be trying for the Un-friendly award in 2018!

This is a very special area. The weather this year has been rotten, but the beach area is as good as ever. The people who frequent it are a nice group and friendly toward newcomers. Try it.

Newcastle has some of the best beaches in Australia from Stockton to Catherine Hill Bay - but if you are visiting for the first time - get yourself a park at Nobby's. Explore the beach and the lighthouse and break wall next to the harbour. Follow the harbours edge west from Nobby's along the parkland walkway and see a magnificent working harbour, catch a ferry for a couple of dollars and look back at Newcastle from the other side while you explore Stockton town; beach; and breakwater - or walk in the other direction from nobbby's south and follow the waterfront beach walk to the City beach. Do both all in a day - for free - you can't get lost, you can't go wrong. The history; the views; the pristine beaches and water!

We walked along the coast line and took in the beautiful views. The beaches were sparkling clean and not too crowded. Will definitely take a dip next time we visit

I have bought tickets for the Foreshore concert here in November 2016. Whats a nice close park for us to stay in if we decide to bring our campervan up, otherwise some nice accomodation walking distance to stay in on the beach.

I haven't had experience with holiday parks but agree regarding Stockton holiday park as there will probably be extra ferries available to & from Stockton on the for this event.

Is there somewhere to eat later in the afternoon?
Written January 9, 2016
Scratchleys, an lovely restaurant on the foreshore also have a takeaway & ice creams reasonably priced! There are also a couple of coffee shops such as Queens Wharf cafe & a take away kiosk also just across the street is Harry's Cafe De Wheels for pies & hot dogs! 😊
