Surprised by lack of camellias and azaleas but otherwise a most worthwhile attraction. Beautifully maintained, mobility disadvantaged folk should have no trouble moving around most of the paths.
Wish this garden was much larger. Would have been happy to pay an entrance fee.
A must visit when in Dubbo.

The Dubbo Japanese Gardens are well worth a visit in this historic city. They are fairly new and beautifully laid out, a great place to wander and reflect as we did on a nice autumn day. The trees, plants, and grounds are well landscaped and very colourful. The ponds and lakes with their duck and birds are a great commune with nature. There is plenty of parking at the grounds and entry is free. It is a lovely place to spend half to an hour and reflect on life.

We stopped here as a family and really enjoyed the time spent. Free entry, beautiful gardens, very well kept, presented and maintained.
Kids really enjoyed feeding the ducks and the fish with the supplied fish food.
We ended up shooting our time so much I forgot to take a picture 😰😂

Our visit was late winter when the blossoms and flowers of most of the plants and trees here were just beginning to show. Much work is being done to install sprinklers and irrigation to the newer Biodiversity Garden which is a lovely walk but were concerned how close many of the shrubs and plants had been placed so close to the path. Clearly they will demand severe pruning in the near future which will affect their natural shape. This would be a great way to harness the skills of those receiving welfare as a way to reciprocate their income while seeking work. So much could be done re weeding, tidying, general labouring that could be tied to a learning component giving participants some horticultural skills and knowledge and a sense of pride in contributing to their community.

The Japanese Gardens had small shelters on the mound near the waterfall that had been vandalised and awaiting repairs to the bamboo bits and pieces. Can’t understand vandalism.

The children’s sensory playground nearby was amazing. It included exciting activities that even grownups would enjoy doing. And a custom swing designed for those confined to a wheelchair. A unique device that allows those in a chair to experience something many of us take for granted.

And it’s all free. Thank you Dubbo Council!

It was winter when we went so the garden is a bit more dormant than it would be in other seasons. It was still beautiful though and the kids loved the little bags of duck and fish food. It is completely free which is always a bonus when trying to come up with things to do with the kids.

The Japanese gardens are beautiful and relaxing.
Even when busy, you can still find somewhere that is a little quiet and secluded.
It also adjoins the Botanic Gardens and Children's playground, so it is easy to spend half a day in this area.

Peaceful, somewhat exotic for what I always thought of as a bit of an almost outback rural town and a lovely walk. Great spot for a picnic. We were there on a Thursday just before lunch time and only saw half a dozen other people there. Really well maintained.

The Japanese garden is beautiful and peaceful. You only need a short time to visit, unless you plan on sitting and taking in the beautiful surroundings. The water feature is full of carp, probably the largest we've ever seen. There's a fabulous children's adventure playground next door, but we struggled to find the entrance to the botanic garden. There was a gate down the side but it was locked so we left.

Have been to the gardens before for a wedding. This time was a different speed, with the 4 year old. We attacked the adventure playground. Lots to do for all children of all abilities. Flying fox and the tower were a hit. Facilities available as well as a kiosk. Well done Dubbo Council

This is a lovely place to visit in Dubbo yet many probably do not know about it.
A peaceful and well-designed garden that provides calming and beautiful time. Children will enjoy it a s much as adults - specially the carp in the pond. There is also a wonderful children's playground opposite which makes it a good place to visit for families. There is an indigenous garden being built next to it at the moment.
