About
Outback pilot I'm Hugh and I am passionate about flying and the bush. I grew up on a sheep & cattle station outside of Broken Hill, and continue to run the place with my family in between flying. I have extensive knowledge of life in the outback, and would be more than happy to answer any questions you have as we go. I am also an accredited flying instructor, so you can rest assured you are in safe hands. I look forward to flying with you soon.

Can't sing the praises of H & A Air high enough - Hugh gave us an amazing 30 minute Scenic flight over Broken Hill area. This gives you an insight into what part the Mine plays in the community of Broken Hill and who better to recount its origins than a descendant of one of the first original families in the district ? Hugh's family have been Station owners in the area since 1880's when mining started.
Our flight cost $334 for 30 mins and worth every $. You can get flights that take in Menindee or Silverton or even further afield - obviously at a higher cost but for value for money, you can't beat this flight.
Hugh's plane was well equipped and all safety features were made known so we felt quite at ease.

We chartered H&A Air for a day trip from Broken Hill to Mungo National Park. Given challenging uncertain conditions, both weather and technical, Hugh was most accommodating and communicative. In the end our day with his pilot Harry was perfect, the service impeccable.
It also enabled us to have a scenic flight over the Lunettes and a wonderful view of the Menindee Lakes in flood on the return visit. We felt very lucky to experience a very special yet difficult to access part of NSW. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

The two hours 35 min flight over Broken Hill, Silverton and the awesome Menindee Lakes was one of the best experiences of my life. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful clear day and we got to see the lakes close to full. Being in a Cessna with the wings above us meant that our view was unimpeded and we got some great shots. Add to that Hugh's vast local knowledge and skilful flying, it was an unforgettable morning. We will be back to do the Mungo National Park with Hugh.

Thanks to Hugh for a spectacular flight over the Menindee Lakes, including a special detour to see the Anabranch flooding out. We can't recommend Hugh highly enough. His great local knowledge really added to the flight. Thanks again Hugh! Andy and Ro.

Hugh took us up early in the day for a two hour flight over the Menindee Lakes. Really comfortable small plane, with clear communication system. Hugh gave us great information about the Lakes and Broken Hill area. Recent rains had greened up the views, which were spectacular. This was a terrific way to see the Broken Hill surrounds. Thoroughly recommend.

I highly recommend H&A Air. Had an amazing scenic flight over Broken Hill, Silverton and Menindee Lakes with Hugh from H&A Air. Hands down one of the best scenic flights I’ve done - and I’ve done quite a few. Great plane, smooth ride. The region is magnificent from the air. Hugh is a born and bred local with great knowledge of the region. Do yourself a favour! I’ll definitely be back!

Everything was fantastic, from start to finish.
Hugh was great with communication for our trip from Broken Hill to Menindee lake system's.

A flight to Lake Frome from Broken Hill, a fabulous morning. Hugh was very knowledgeable about the landscape and pastoral history of the region. We felt we were in safe hands with him at the controls. Fabulous to see water in the Lake.
