Although not as spectacular as some caves that we have visited they are still well worth a visit. The original dance floor (1880's) which is still in pristine condition in the cave, is an unusual feature of this cave system. The bush ranger cave tour...More

Very nice place. There are several tours offered in the place, the easiest one is the self guided tour of about 1 hour, which is suitable for families with kids. There are also guided tours, which are more suitable for adults as they require climbing...More

was a lovely experience that both my wife and I enjoyed, not a good idea to take the frail or small children to any caved area, Loved it would go again

Well worth visiting. Easy walking self-guided cave tour, camp ground, picnic area, waterfall and self contained cabins to rent if you don't want to rough it.

My husband and daughter took a self guided archway tour, managed by national parks and wildlife so there are entry fees involved. It is very peaceful and relaxing spot for a nature walk.

Great place to camp and explore the local area and caves. We stayed in a caravan one night here down on the river, it was great and kids loved it.

Make a day of it! The last 10 minutes of the drive is a little curvy but well worth it. Pay and get a token to enter the Caves. We were the only ones inside, which was amazing! We could go at our own pace....More

Definitely no dogs allowed at the caves. There is free camping at Macquarie Woods which is half way between Bathurst and Orange. You can take long walks around the pine forest with lovely views.

Access to Abercrombie Caves is by own transport (car, motor bike etc) as there is no public transport available from Bathurst or anywhere else. Own transport allows the visitor to spend as much time in the area as possible... More
