These gardens were formerly well-labelled at each tree and bush, especially about their indigenous connections. The place was very badly affected by the bushfires earlier this year and you can still see the effects.

The trees themselves are making a comeback, but need readable signage. The visitors' centre is exemplary, in its design and muted colours and the attached cafe. It serves great coffee and light meals, as you can sit on the covered verandah and listen to the serenade of cicadas.

Still worth a visit to walk around. Even more worth making a donation to support its revival. Please.

The park is lovely, but the gift store is amazing with such a variety of unique and beautiful items for quite reasonable prices.

it still bears the scars of the bushfires which have badly affected it, but repairs and rejuvenation are going well (although slowly - I suspect they're working with a modest budget, so please consider donating considering it's free entry). It's still a lovely walk and with several beautiful birds on the trails.

As I said above, I was incredibly impressed by the gift store - if you need a present or souvenir from anywhere on the South Coast it's worth going there.

The microscope set up they have is really interesting as well, it lets you zoom in high detail on a variety of parts of plants, rocks and animals.

The recovery of this beautiful area is a credit to the staff who have and still are putting their life's work into restoration of this lovely place. The serenity of the recovering bush is amazing to just sit in and ponder of the recent horror. Congratulations to the very hard working staff. Your efforts are amazing. Thank you

We visited the gardens for the first time since the fires. No doubt the wetter cooler weather has helped to regenerate the trees with new shoots. It is lovely to see the contrast of the fire damaged and the new with burnt poles and signs left as a reminder. I love the new cafe and shop. The children’s books were great. Children would love the new playground. I’ll return with my grandchildren. Take a couple of hours to explore. It’s a quiet peaceful refuge.

We visited the gardens on our way south from Batemans Bay and unfortunately didn’t have a lot of time to spend there.
We were astonished to see that last year’s fires had swept through the surrounding forest but by some miracle had missed the visitors centre completely even though there was nobody there to fight the fire.
The forest is coming back and the gardens are being tended by volunteers. There is still some trees down and therefore tracks have had to be closed.
At this time of year there are not a lot of plants in flower but that didn’t spoil our relatively quick visit.
The shop has some lovely things and the plant sales offer a variety of native plants in tubes to purchase.
The staff are friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our visit.

What a great relaxing spot to stop, enjoy great coffee, relax with a leisurely stroll in the most beautiful surrounds with native animals all around you. Just called in by accident and discovered this little gem. So relaxing and will be back for sure. Coffee shop staff were so amazingly friendly.

This place is truly amazing! I really enjoyed all the walks. There were five different ones and there was even wildlife! I saw Kangaroos and some different types of birds. It's amazing how the trees managed to regenerate after the devastating bush fires. I really enjoyed this place!
And the cafe was also really nice. There were fresh baked scones with cream and jam! The visit was very memorable.

Exceptional regrowth in an area that was completely devastated during the fires. The area has regrown and plants that were lost have been replaced. Even the kangaroos are back.
The food and staff at the Cafe are awesome. The beef and bacon patty open burger was delicious. Thank you!.

We had a delightful day here! Trees, walks, benches, birds and wallabies. Calm, not too many people, nice cafe with great cake and tea selection. Service slow and friendly, I figured we are in the country! Great shop with a native plant nursery. Well worth a visit. Terrible fire damage from last year - big reminder for us all to care for and support our natural environment. Forest is growing back, birds are starting to sing. And so much wildlife lost!
