There is an OK view at Monument Hill, the views and monument aren't that spectacular, but the walk up there from Dean St is a great walk if you want to work in your fitness. It is also accessible by car.

A vigorous climb from the Botanic Gardens, or an easy drive to the lookout. This is a War Memorial and provides a spectacular vantage point outlook over Albury and Wodonga, the Murray River and beautiful mountainous countryside on the New South Wales and Victoria sides of the river. Spectacular regional Australian scenery that should be visited and seen.

Just head for the monument and head up the hill. Ample parking and toilets amenities. The view is great and memorials for the war dead in different sections and wars. The plaques are touching how so many local lads were so young when they were killed. If you are keen on getting the heart muscles going hard then walk up... More

Every time I visit Albury I go for an early morning walk to the monument. It's a hard walk (for us oldies) but it is worth it. The view from the top is spectacular and it is so serene at the memorial.

Dean Street at one time continued all the way to the Obelisk War Memorial atop of Monument Hill but now is replaced with wide stairs almost to bottom of hill but you can still see that it leads straight into Dean Street, My first visit here ever and i think the monument and area close by needs some expert design... We chose to walk up and it is steep and long but worth the effort. The view from the top is stunning.
