We visited Bald Hill whilst in the Stanwell Tops area recently. You have to hang on to your hats here because while we were there a few people lost their hats and caps over the edge as it was very windy. Magnificent panoramic view of the area including the Sea Cliff Bridge. There is plenty of parking available and also seats for viewing. Food is available on site.

I live in the Sutherland Shire so Bald Hill is only a short drive, needless to say I'm a frequent visitor.
The views of the south coast are marvellous, a photographers canvas. When the winds are right the place is buzzing with hang gliders. Attracts thousands of tourists each year. Views include Stanwell Park, the mountains, ocean and coastline.
Recently had a new toilet block and car park extension which has only enhanced the location. A coffee shop has been built and you will always find the soft serve van which serves hotdogs, ice creams and the like.
Great spot for all, locals and tourists alike.

We stopped here for a break while out on a motorbike ride. The view up and down the coast is very good. This place is very busy on a weekend, but worth a stop to see the view.

Worth the Be there in 10 minutes minute drive north of Wollongong. As it was raining, no skydiving. But still very picturesque. Recommended.

Worth the drive. Magnificent view towards Wollongong and the Sea Cliff Bridge. Lots of tourist but plenty of parking. Great for scenic shots.

A winding coast drive if coming from the South, along Grand Pacific Drive..
A great ride should you be wanting to absorb nature along the way and feel the wind.
Coming from the North has 2 options, through the Royal National Park, again an amazing ride or drive, or coming down the freeway and taking the Helensburgh/Stanwell Park exit.
From early morning to late, the pics, the breeze and amazing time will be something that will be remembered.
Most of the time there is an ice cream van parked, but the place does allow for a blanket and a picnic. Just to sit and take in the moment is allowed and a definite for this amazingly spectacular spot!

What a great place to get the best views of the Illawarra coastline. This is the best place to see the Seacliff Bridge winding around the cliff at Stanwell Park. Watch Handgliders taking off and gliding above. Enjoy foods and drinks at the mobile food vans or just sit and relax while enjoying the view. It can get a bit cold and windy so take a jacket. Please read the safety signs and stay out of the glider zones. Hang onto your young children as this is not a safe place for them to run around. There is parking available but this can fill up quickly during public holidays. If you are an early riser than this is a great place to watch the sunrise.

This newly opened outlook is fabulous. There are more places to park cars and buses so that more people can enjoy the views. There is also a huge viewing platform above the Flying High cafe where you can purchase delicious food, drinks and ice creams. You can even try hang gliding over the beautiful Stanwell Park area. It is a fantastic gateway to the Illawarra.

Yesterday I walked from Otford Station to Bald Hill. From there I planned to walk to Stanwell Park. There seems to be no safe way to walk from Bald Hill to Stanwell Park. The only connection seems to be via Lawrence Hargraves Drive and that is extremely dangerous for pedestrians.

The address and pin on the map are incorrect. The address of Bald Hill is Otford Rd Stanwell Tops and the pin is correctly placed about a kilometre away from where it should be.
Thanks

Otford Rd goes all the way to the stop sign at the Stanwell Park turnoff, it doesn't start at the 'turnoff' north of Bald Hill. The pin is in the bush but there are two businesses near by, the entrance to a paint ball place and a sewerage pump station.
