This take-off area is excellent because of the constant updraft from the wind hitting the hill. With a slight breeze the hang gliders already can come higher than the hill. Their landing is down on the sandy beach.
This is a beautiful lookout to Stanwell Top that travelers should not miss out. Apart from the great view, witnessing the taking off of Hang Gliding is just another mind-blowing experience. It is all free of charge!
