Milford Sound Experience Full Day from Queenstown

642 reviews
Cruising Milford Sound is among New Zealand’s most spectacular activities, but the mountain scenery that lines the coast is just as gorgeous. Experience both on this full-day trip from Queenstown, traveling through the heart of Fiordland National Park, and then cruising all the way to the edge of the Tasman Sea. An included Kiwi-style barbecue lunch completes the excursion, which includes plenty of sightseeing stops throughout the day.

I heard so much about Bushbash and one day I did it a try. Mary took me for a short walk (more like a beginner bushwalker walk) as I did not have time going for a couple of days trip (plus I am not a pro). During our 3 hours walk I learned so much. Since we sat into the car and drove to the start point I was amazed by all the information I was told. And when we arrived and started walking in that crystal clear forest is just magnificent. I learnt so much about flora and fauna. Imagine, going for a 2-3 days trips. Thank you! Ps.: Great hiking equipment and health conditions are essential for the longer trips!

I’m an avid hiker, hiking many trails in Ontario, Alberta and BC in Canada, including the famous Bruce Trail in Ontario. While in New Zealand for 6 weeks, Mary and BushBash introduced me to tramping and “bush-bashing” and what an incredible experience it was. Our 2 night, 3 day summit of Mount Titiroa was both challenging but so rewarding, especially reaching the summit and looking out over Fiordland on such a beautiful day. Mary was a wonderful host and an exceptional guide and I am so happy I chose to hike with her as opposed to some of the larger group tramps in that area. Highly recommended! A new friend and memories for a lifetime!

If you are looking for something off the beaten track, this is literally what you get with Bush Bash. This is an off-track adventure - no huts, no toilets, just lots of nature. We did the Mount Titiroa 3-day Summit trip and we have never experienced anything like it. It was hard, but well worth it. Mount Titiroa looks like it has snow on it all year round, but it is actually white granite sand and amazing rock formations. Other adventures included river crossings, hiking up a 40 degree slope (don't hold onto dead tree branches!), stars, stars and more stars, outsmarting Kea, walking on the moon (at least that's what it feels like at the summit), eating wild snow berries, hiking down a 40 degree slope and competing in the Garnock Burn toasted marshmallow championships. It was a great three days. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the environment, plants, animals, weather. I'll never look at clouds the same way again - thanks Adrian!! With our current level of skill, this isn't something we'd feel confident doing on our own, but we always felt completely safe and we learnt a lot from both Adrian and Mary who did our pre-trip briefing and organised everything so beautifully. So, we not only took away a great experience, but some new knowledge to make the most of our future adventures. We actually got a lot more out of our Routeburn Track hike because of what we'd learnt on this trip, so if you are planning a few tramps, put Bush Bash early on your itinerary - you'll be thankful.

Only a beginner's trek, but it was still so much more difficult than I had anticipated haha, but much more fulfilling as a result. The guide was one of the most knowledgeable outdoorsmen I've met and that allowed him to be a guide for our experience rather than a leader and that was great.

Completely different to all the other tours an activities on offer in NZ, take the opportunity to wander off track and into the wilderness of Fiordland. You don't need to be fit or a 'tramper' - all you need is a good sense of adventure! You'll scramble on all fours, slip down slopes on your bum and lose your leg down hidden holes in the forrest floor. You'll graze your hands and get muddy boots. And that's what makes BushBash awesome! Mary is professional and knowledgeable and makes you instantly feel at ease in her company and with the surroundings. The whole experience is massively rewarding, even more so because its not something many travellers get to do.
