We traveled through Milford Sound Scenic Flights. We were collected at the hotel by a cab in the morning as part of the trip. Grant took us in the small plane to Milford. It was awe inspiring, the snow covered peaks are as far as the eye can see and in the clean New Zealand air that is a long... More

Flew from Queenstown up to Milford Sound in a little 9 seater plane with the experience breathtaking and the views unbelievable. Arrived Milford and then sailed to the end of the Sound with fantastic scenery and wildlife along the way. Returned to Queenstown with the same plane but a different route with more spectacular views especially of the Lake Wakatipu... More

We flew out of Queenstown airport with Glenorchy Air, the view was breathtaking all the way and back. The Pilot was informative and entertaining. The cruise was not too long, sights were beautiful and weather was amazing. We were supposed to take the coach back but decided to pay the 50 nzd extra so we could fly back. Best decision... More

The people in New Zealand turned a cancelled couch trip to Milford Sound, due to avalanche threat, into the most exhilarating and scenic vista I could have experienced. Our day trip by couch was cancelled the night before. We took the tour bus from Queensland to Te Anau anyway in case conditions changed. When we arrived the couch driver said... More

We flew with Matt in an Air Milford plane to Milford Sound which was an awesome experience in itself! Then we had a fantastic cruise up the Sound. The boat wasn't massive like some other providers so we got a real personal experience. I loved the South African skipper giving the Wallabies (Aussie rugby team) a wind up. Definitely worth... Amazing what views and what you cover when u get up in the air. Got to cover both the Milford and doubtful sounds with a really cool pilot whom made us feel at home. He really accommodated us for all our needs and allowed for some great photos whilst always making us feel safe. Have to get up in the... More

This trip isn't cheap, but it has got to be one of the highlights of any visit to New Zealand's South Island. The trip is actually a bit "might be on, might be off" due to the weather, which can be quite bad at times. A small twin-engine plane took us to Milford - piloted by a man who really... More

The flight to Milford Sound is fantastic. Amazing scenery that I have never seen before. Our pilot, Matt, was as great a tour guide as he was a pilot. The boat ride on the Sound was breathtaking. We were able to get really close to a huge waterfall. The boat left from the dock that was only a short walk... More

Milford Sound is amazing. A must see if you are blessed by decent weather as we were. Our party of four used Southern Alps Air flying out of Wanaka (book at the tourist place in the main street). This involves an incredible scenic flight cross the alps and then a cruise of the Sound itself. It's not cheap but it's... More

Milford Sound, a place Rudyard Kipling called "The Eigth Wonder of the World" Flying to Milford Sound is a hit or miss situation. You get a call about 30 minutes before your flight time to say go or no-go for the day. Lucky for us it was a go. We were picked up and driven to the airport to board... More
