Nice stroll along the coastline. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Picknick benches available for some snacks with a romantic bottle of wine to view the sunset

I took a photo, and it looks like a chocolate box pic from days gone bye.the lake was still, with a little yacht moored on it. and beautiful mountains in the background.

Together with Wakatipu and Wanaka, Te Anau lake has to be on any itinerary of South Island and is the second largest body of water in New Zealand. Te Anau town is a sweet little place and the local council obviously take a lot of...More

We braved the lake for a swim just before New Years. It was lovely and sunny with amazing views across the lake, but very cold. We also went on a boat trip around the lake and it was lovely!

It's beautiful and large. It's a remarkable sight from Te Anau, but the sheer size of it is hard to believe until you drive around/along side of or travel on. If you go to the glow worm caves you travel on a boat and are...More

Very pretty lake at the intersection of roads from the south and Queenstown. Most folks pass right through the town or have a brief overnight. There is a small shopping area but the main attraction is to walk by the lake.
