Te Anau was one of the lakes in the Fiordland area that we visited recently, we love the village feeling and the stunning scenery.

We luckily had a fine day and Peter took us out onto the lake. July is cold so wrap up warmly. The boat was bigger than I expected and there are options- travelling up the top with the captain, sitting down below in the cabin or right up on the bow. I know there is one bad review about the... We were a little surprised when it was just us and another couple on this trip but it seems a lot of people are missing out on a fantastic cruise. Peter takes us a short way up the South Arm on Lake Te Anau and the tranquility and views are epic! He proves to us that it is very similar... More

This was our second trip with Peter, your guide and skipper on this Cruise Te Anau trip which consists of three hours of exploration and experience of this beauty spot BUT far from the madding crowds as there is a maximum of 12 on Peter's comfortable boat AND without being blasted with over-kill information on the loudspeaker system. Instead Peter... More

On a fine day such as we enjoyed this 3 hour lake cruise and nature walk takes some beating. We have been fortunate to visit both Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound on day trips, also in decent weather, in recent years and frankly Peter's cruise is more relaxing and almost as scenic. A "must do" in The Anau, especially for... More

Our motel recommended this cruise and it turned out to be an outstanding recommendation. Peter, the captain, was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He obviously takes great pride in operating a "small" non-commercial operation. The three-hour cruise was reasonable priced, slow paced, and extremely interesting. The cruise went from Te Anau across Lake Te Anau to the lower fiord of the... More

It was a last minute decision. We called and we got a 3-hour trip to lake Te Anau Southern Fiord. Peter, the skipper guided us to the hidden lakes in a 30-minute walk though the forest. We enjoyed warm coffee and tea after the walk. Delightful experience!

Peter (the skipper) is a very relaxed, personable man who put everyone at ease on this small excursion. We rang up on a Saturday morning to enquire, and although he had no bookings at the time he was very happy to take just the two of us. In the end there were 8 of us (12 max.) cruising slowly up... Wasn't sure what to expect. But it was worth the trip. Very friendly captain/guide. The lake and mountain views are brilliant. If I had more time and brought appropriate gear would have been good to go hike through the walkways etc call ahead if you want to try personalise it more with the captain. Very easily accessible from the township.... More

Peter has a small boat and looks after his guests extremely well. There are NO crowds and its very peaceful and interesting. Peter is very informative and takes care to give you a good time on this lake. We had a cruise and a walk to another small inland lake - followed by tea and scones on the way home.... More
