My recent morning trip with Queenstown Fishing was beyond expectations. The stunning views of Queenstown's waters at sunrise were breathtaking, with the tranquil lake reflecting the vibrant colors of the sky.
Our guide, Simon, was fantastic. His deep local knowledge and passion for fishing came through in every story and tip he shared. He made the trip both informative and enjoyable, providing fascinating insights into the area's history and aquatic life. He also managed to find us some great spots out of the rain!
A standout moment was learning how to properly gut a salmon. Simon's clear, step-by-step instructions made the process approachable and educational. It was a hands-on experience that added a unique touch to the trip.
Overall, this excursion was a perfect blend of natural beauty, expert guidance, and practical learning. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic trip with Simon. We were over from the UK visiting family and wanted to do something different plus my son was keen to do some lake fishing. The trip did not disappoint- surrounded by spectacular views we had a great time with every member of the family catching at least 1 fish (either a trout or Salmon) which we then cooked for a family dinner.
It was a great customer service experience with Simon helping us all fish and was really supportive with the kids- just a really decent and friendly person who wants everyone to enjoy their time fishing on the lake.
Would thoroughly recommend this trip

An absolutely wonderful morning out with Simon and Carl. They were determined for all on the boat to catch a fish which we all did! The scenery was spectacular and all equipment was top notch. Highly recommend to any one who wants to fish for trout or salmon on the lake in Queenstown!

I thoroughly enjoyed the adrenaline rush of catching fish during the 3 Hour Fishing Experience in Queenstown. The excitement of the catch was unparalleled.
However, I felt that a considerable amount of time was spent moving from one fishing spot to another.
For the price paid, the actual time spent fishing could have been longer, yet the joy of the experience made it well worth it.
Simon, our guide, was exceptional, making the trip not only educational but also very enjoyable. This has been one of the best activities I've experienced in Queenstown.
For anyone curious about fishing or looking for a worthwhile way to spend time, this charter is highly recommended.
Besides fishing, the tour offers stunning views of Queenstown's scenic beauty. While I believe more fishing time would have enhanced the experience, every cent spent was worth it for the wonderful memories created.
If I return to Queenstown, this is one activity I would definitely repeat!

14 y/o son really wanted to fish in lake - caught his first salmon (2) and a trout on lure. He loved the experience and learnt - as did his Dad who also caught trout. We had salmon as sushimi and cooked trout in apartment bbq with lemon/butter - soooo tasty!! Great service, simple to book and on time. Worthwhile experience while in Queenstown! Thank you Queenstown Fishing!!

Had a amazing time even though I did not get a fish. The captain did everything possible to get us on the fish in less than ideal conditions on the lake. But good fish were caught by others.
Would highly recommend it to anyone

Simon was fantastic, & provided us with everything we could want/need for a great fishing adventure.
His local/fishing knowledge was most interesting & made for a perfect day of fishing.
Overall, the trip was 5 star & couldnt have been better. Also, should mention some beautiful rainbows & brown trout we caught were the icing on the cake.

It was a great experience, Simon our guide was great and made the trip so much better. He had great knowledge and knew exactly where the fish were and taught us the best methods to catch them. While the fish were not really biting when we went we still had a great time and even though we didn’t get anything we still had a great time exploring some awesome nature with Simon.

Had a great day, have fly fished before but never hooked a fish (beginner). By the end of the day I had managed to land 2 good sized fish and been broken off by another much lager one. Excellent guide, great fishing and stunning countryside! Thank you so much Julian!

Book at own risk.
Initially booked for departure from Queenstown with confirmation from Simon. Departure was changed to Glenorchy as Queenstown boat was under repair, which we accepted.
1 day prior, trip was cancelled as apparently both Glenorchy and Queenstown boats were not available. Completely understandable and accepted.
Given cancellation policy states "All deposits are non-refundable, unless the charter/fishing experience is cancelled by the captain/guide due to bad weather or circumstances beyond their control. This cancellation is made prior to the charter commencing on the day only at the captain’s/guide’s discretion."
It is only fair and within terms that a refund be processed since our booking was cancelled by the Captain.
However Simon and Queenstown Fishing team has ignored our repeated emails (3 follow ups within 2 weeks) on a refund, despite it well within the terms and conditions. Even if they feel a refund is not possible, completely ignoring a customer who has fully paid NZD600 for the trip is simply not acceptable. A response on their stance would have been appreciated.
It is disappointing to have experienced this. It does appear that Queenstown Fishing has good reviews and we would have loved to have experienced it too, but do book with caution and at your own risk.

Hi Jamie,
We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate you accommodating us with the departure location change to Glenorchy. Unfortunately sometimes with boats parts fail without warning and its extremely rare we have two boats out of commission at the same time. This is the first time this has happened in the last 10 years.
Your charter was refunded in full before the end of the month in which you booked, this was just 2 weeks after your charter date. We apologize for the delay on the refund but we do ask for your patience as we are short with admin (like many businesses in NZ) and with the super high demand on fishing experiences it sometimes takes till month end to sort refunds.

Hi.. We are planning to fish this august. How much will it cost for 5 adults, and 2 infants (under 2 years old)
And how to book?
Written June 7, 2018
H, your best option is to choose the private charter (boat to yourself). You can book direct through tripadvisor. No charge for the infants, private charter is $1200.00NZD so that works out at $240each.

Hi my husband, father in law and I will be in Queenstown from 20/10/2018 until 30/10/2018.
The men would like to do one of your fishing charters but we are wondering as my father in law is 87yrs young will you take him on board. He is agile and does not need walking aids or assistance.
If someone could get back to me that would be appreciated thanks.
Regards
