    Must do Spa Expereience
So Spa is the must do Spa experience of Queenstown. I visited for a deep tissue massage while holidaying. The staff are friendly and professional and the spa has beautifully appointed decore and is a relaxing atmosphere. My Deep Tissue massage was perfection, my therapist ensured it was the right amount of pressure and was extremely well trained. I only wish I had been staying longer to try out more of their treatments. I highly recommend So Spa.

    World class spa experience
On a recent trip to Queenstown I stayed at the Sofitel and booked a Pure Indulgence spa treatment the day after arrival. I wasn't sure what to expect, reviews seemed good and the photographs made the facility look inviting. On the morning of the spa, I made my way from my room on the 4th floor to the dedicated lift at the end of the corridor which takes you directly down to the spa reception. I was immediately warmly greeted by Alessandra, who offered me a refreshment and warm towel after I had completed the new client form. The treatment room was pleasantly warm, with soothing relaxation music playing and the delicate aroma of an intangibly delicate scent in the air. I had booked a full body scrub and massage which took place on a comfortable massage table covered with beautifully soft large white towels. I had chosen a manuka honey scrub which was a a top to toe experience and absolutely amazing. After this I was treated to the best massage of my life, and I have had many. Alessandra is a highly experienced and talented masseuse, whose petite stature belies the strength of her hands. She knew exactly the points which needed particular focus and worked away, leaving me feeling both invigorated and utterly relaxed at the same time. It was a wonderful experience, so much so that I went back for the same again two days later and have planned another trip to Queenstown for my birthday in a few weeks time and will be returning for further pampering at SoSpa Sofitel Queenstown. Bravo for offering an excellent service in a wonderful setting.

    Awesome, as always!
Managed to make two visits to the So Spa whilst staying at the Sofitel. Thank you to all of the staff for an amazing set of treatments on both visits. Loved each of the different treatments/experiences including Hammam Steam, Greenstone Massage, Ataahua Treatment & Healing Facial. Absolutely highly recommend a visit when in Queenstown.

Fantastic service, friendly staff, amazing massage. A wee bit pricey at $210 for 90mins but so worth it. Free 30min steam room to start and pure indulgence thereafter. We would totally go back.

We had a 90 minute couples massage . I’m pleased to see the many excellent reviews . The staff were friendly the room and atmosphere was lovely the musics somehow increased in volume during the massage so less relaxing here . the massage itself with the description of the relaxing massage whilst nice was ok. Perhaps some more training is needed when compared with other massages we have had recently. Long flowing strokes was a description of the type of massage rather than shorter less relaxing ones which we were given . This is a critique rather than a complaint hence a middle rating .

After a week of hiking, kayaking and mountain biking around the South Island, I thought I would treat myself. I booked in for a half hour steam and 1.5 hour massage and it was HEAVEN. The staff were so lovely and looked after me really well - this spa deserves all the awards it has won, truly.

Treatment was amazing. I think the receptionist must have been in training. English was a challenge for her and when she could not understand what I was asking for hung up on me making a booking. I persisted and got my booking the deep relax ritual. Upon arrival I was not given a towel that fit or a robe. I was not given instructions for the steam room and gave up after what I thought was 30 mins but could not tell the time as the clock was broken. Sat around a long time in my clothes. When I gave up and went to the loo another staff member looked surprised to see me come out and offered for me to put my robe on. I explained I did not have one and she did not offer me one. Thank God for Valadeta I think her name was, her scrub massage and facial were just amazing. Definitely some more training needed I think.
