Really interesting to learn the history the region, see some of this gorgeous country and, of course, enjoy the thrills of a jetboat on the Shotover River. The whole family loved this! It is cold in winter though, so bring plenty of warm, secure layers!

Amazing trip! Absolutely loved it. Took myself and two boys 7yrs & 11yrs. Vehicle driver Pete was incredibly full of knowledge of the area. The drive in and scenery is an adventure all of its own. Jet boat trip was awesome. Highly recommend.

The trip in the fascinating gold mining tank vehicle to the canyon was amazing, breathtaking, thrills right on the edge, and as close as your nose to historic features of the mountains. I came with family, 3 year old son who loved every bit of it! History chats on the way and the excellent thrill of a jet boat ride. Definitely recommend and suitable for younger audience as well.…

We did this trip early June 2022. Willie picked us up from Queenstown centre on a custom made truck which was a refuge from the Queenstown cold. He was very knowledgeable of the area and had lots of commentaries and stories - e.g. Why is it called 'the Remarkables' (when it was discovered, the compass showed a true north/south axis and the man said 'remarkable!'), a few of the stories such as one of the bridges where a man purposefully diverted the water to make the bridge muddy and unpassable creating a business of pulling coaches with cattle / donkey until his fraud was found). Great driving skills too! The drive to the bottom of the canyon was very good, scenic and a little close to the edge! But Willie made it entertaining and fun. At the bottom of the canyon, a river boat greeted us and it was Ben (a 5th generation local from his gold prospecting ancestors) who took us for a ride around the river. It was exhilarating! We got given life jackets and gloves and thankfully the boat had very warm hand warmers! There were some commentary on the some of the key spots including historic bridges. He rode hard and fast in some areas, quite close to the rocky walls and gave us a few spins. When we did this it was quite cold; around June, I recommend you bring a beanie and definitely go a few layers with a mouth covering as it was cold! We had a 7-year old with us and he coped ok. The boat ride was for a little less than half an hour - well worth the cold! The drive back to Queenstown was a quieter affair. Thanks Willie and Ben - I recommend this business to everyone; come on give it a go!…
