- One Manz Opinion5 contributionsGive it a shot... you can’t miss with Break One!!!My son Tyler and I had an awesome time shooting clays and enjoying the views. These folks are doing a great job from our pickup in front of our hotel, through the fun of shooting with a little father vs. son bragging rights on the line through our drop off back at our hotel! I cannot say enough about how Blake treated us and really helped my son get comfortable with a shotgun. He also was kind enough to give me some pointers and guidance as I had not shot in 20 years. All that and some 5 Star views on the drive to and from! Would definitely do it again...Visited February 2020Traveled with familyWritten February 17, 2020
- MrDefenderHavelock North, New Zealand34 contributionsGreat mornings shootingI visited Break One whilst on holiday in Queenstown. A really professional operation with Steve and Blake providing excellent tuition to make sure everyone from beginners to more experienced shooters break targets. A very safe relaxed and enjoyable experience in the midst of some spectacular Otago scenery. Thanks for a great morning out. Regards PaulVisited February 2020Written January 31, 2020
- HeatherKempMittagong, Australia55 contributionsBest Hens Party Activity Ever!I didn't think I would be able to hit the side of a barn but with Blake's tuition I scored 17/20. Blake ensured everyone succeeded. His ability to engage the group from pick up to drop off made for a fun adventure. Nothing was too much trouble, he encouraged, cajoled and celebrated with us all. And what a majestic location. It is worth going to Break One just for the view. Such fun!Visited August 2022Written August 30, 2022

- sixamigos102 contributionsGreat way to spend half a dayWe didn't know what to expect with this and it turned out to be one of the best days of our trip. We were picked up at our hotel by Dougal only to find we were the only two people in our session. Dougal made the effort of the return trip and opening up the Centre just for us as our initial booking was cancelled due to bad fog and they had to reschedule us. The shooting was great fun, we learnt a lot and even managed to hit 50% of our targets. A really different, enjoyable way to spend half a day with even the drive there and back full of lovely scenery. A very big thanks to Dougal for a great time.Visited April 2015Traveled as a coupleWritten June 3, 2015

- david586 contributionsA Great Morning. It would be hard to speak highly enough of the morning my (19yr old) son & I had with Blake at Break One. The instruction was friendly, concise and effective with immediate results for everyone in the group - male or female, and regardless of previous shooting experience. Very safe and not "gung-ho", I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone. Wish we had time for a return trip - maybe then I would beat my son!Visited February 2015Written February 18, 2015

If your looking for adventure, then Queenstown has got it by the bucket load and shooting clays appealed to three of us out of a group accompanying a couple on a camper van tour of the South Island to celebrate their wedding. I was accompanied by the groom and his dad and Blake collected us and an Aussie in town for the trip out to the shooting ground set in a farm. It was lovely drive up and Blake gave us to what amounted to a guided tour of the countryside and we arrived via paddocks containing deer, among them a white species.
On arrival, Blake then introduced us to the Beretta shotgun, this model boasting a four-shot magazine and a recoil reduction system that can best be described as similar to driving a car fitted with rubber shock absorbers. Fab-u-lous. Blake then coached us in the finer arts of hitting clays that appeared from various locations and he was good, which was reflected in the scoring.
We couldn't beat the Aussie, though. Well, I came close but it transpired he was a full-timer in the Australian army!
Anyway, we had tremendous fun and time just flew by. There was none of your swanky clubhouse nonsense here but then who would care about creature comforts in this delightful rural setting. We just lapped it up.

Went with my 30 year old son. We really enjoyed the afternoon. Mitchell was informative about the area and a great shooting coach. A fun afternoon, even though I lost the competition with my son! Thanks Mitchell.

We where picked up at 8:30am by Blake, who was on time and ready. He took us to the Farm where he had the clay throwers set up and the Baretta (gun), he aslo showed us the Deers on the farm who we got very close to and even got to see some white deer. We got out of the car and started on the the need to knows of clay shooting and how to shoot the shotgun properly as well as accurately. Blake was a very good instructor and in 5 minutes we got shooting. My 14 year old Son did beat me in the end by 1 point and found the gun was easier to shoot then he was expecting as the recoil was fine. after that Blake took us back to the apartment we where staying in, he told us some facts of Queenstown on the way there and back.
Overall it is an excellent place for the family, mates or someone you want to have a competition with.

I am planning to bring small groups {say 12 to 15 people} from China, who are interested in shooting/learning to shoot
At this stage I'm flexible so please advise the different kinds of shooting available if any other than clay shooting, that you could organize. These are hi end clients so please let me know what you could offer for there enjoyment in connection with shooting.
Also advise some idea of fee's and rules, type of guns, how many clients can you take at one time, etc. The visit would be for at least two days of more, putting in plenty of time shooting,
One more thing, any information about shooting deer, either by helicopter or hunting, plus if weapons are available to use.
My home is in Papatoetoe Auckland, Although I have been living mainly in US and China for the last 5 years.
Kind regards,
Frank Hall.
