Spent the morning on this great tour with Wolfy as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job, and great asset to NZ

A three part adventure. The canyon tour on roads at the edge, in a unique vehicle. Hummer-like, but better. Views down the canyon 4000+ feet. Then a powerboat ride on the Shotover River. Our boat captain had nerves of steel! Then out in a helicopter, and views of the snow covered ridges. This is must when you visit here, it... More

This mini-bus tour was exceptional! The scenery was all I expected of NZ and more. We were very glad we chose this optional tour.

I went with my family on a ride with the tour guide Lindsay and all of us loved the ride. There were amazing views everywhere we looked and there were many opportunities to get out of the car and take pictures. Lindsay was very engaging and talked about the history of the land, the miners long ago and the stories... More

Some attractions absolutely require comment and yet this is one of those rare experiences where words on their own dramatically fails to adequately describe the event. From the moment Wolfy (actual name Wolfgang) picked us up from the Motel in a four-wheel drive, nine seater van, to the time he dropped us off again on return, the entire tour was... More

The trip down skippers canyon is not for the faint of heart or those with vertigo. At times it seems as if the wheels are on the very edge of some very long drops but the views are worth the anxiety. We were fortunate to have Wolfy as our driver, and he is one of those people who has the... More

Frankly quite scary drive along narrow dirt track between sheer cliffs but with a skilled knowledgeable driver (we had Arthur! awesome!) totally amazing for scenery and history and anecdote and facts. Perfect photo stops, option of short walks, Lord of Rings location and a superb heritage relaxed half-way break with delicious snacks and drinks. Do it!

Picked up.from the centre and taken by small bus along some narrow mountain roads with some very steep drops off each sides the views and scenery were amazing and at the end we were given an interesting talk on gold mining history. You can add a jetboat ride to this package if you want well worth add on
