About
We operate a modern fleet of helicopters amongst the spectacular setting of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, predominantly in Queenstown, Fiordland, the Southern Lakes and Aoraki Mt Cook. Our range of breath-taking scenic flights offer an insight into these magnificent regions and we provide an experience which is second to none. With exclusive landing rights at remote and breath-taking locations you can really experience the beauty and tranquillity that this area is famous for. The jewel in our crown is the spectacular Earnslaw Burn, as seen on Travel Guides.

Absolutely amazing, Such a great time and Ribbi the pilot was both professional and friendly on top of being an absolute master behind the controls of the Squirrel!
he showed us the scenery while expertly flying between the mountains and executing perfectly smooth takeoffs and landings like he was dropping a Huey into a hot LZ in Vietnam.....except with snow.
An unforgettable experience that was full of laughs in one of the best places on the planet fly a chopper! will definitely do it again......*the flight that is, not another marriage, 1 wedding is enough for me.

Very friendly service, with the receptionist in regular contact around weather updates and bringing our flight forward to suit the conditions.
The pilot was very informative with local knowledge and provided a great flight showing all his skills and abilities to ensure we felt safe the entire flight.
Would highly recomend to any body visiting the area.
Thank you to the team at Heliworks Queenstown

If anything should be on your bucket list, it's definitely this! The staff are friendly and welcoming and our pilot Jeremy was really easy going and also taught us a few things about the area as we flew over the amazing landscape. Seeing the maunga from a helicopter is so much better than a plane and then watching the glacier and waterfalls slowly emerge is breath-taking. The landing sight was really tranquil and my mother and I had lots of fun just walking along the stream. Our picnic lunch was really nice and chatting with Jeremy gave it a real laid back kiwi feel. It is worth every cent!

I can't rate Heliworks highly enough. We had hiked up Cecil Peak to camp over night and had booked 2 helicopter trips out for the next morning for our group. With the weather forecast predicting rain for the day, we had already changed our pick up times and group numbers (of which Heliworks was super accommodating) but unfortunately when we awoke it didn't look like the weather would accommodate us. As we hiked down we got a call from Heliworks who said the pilot was confident he could get us with a small break in the clouds. The pilot was epic, found us and saved us from a very soggy descent. Everyone was awesome and we all really appreciated the extra effort they put in to come and get us. The fight was great fun and a brilliant way to finish our trip. Thank you so much for everything.

Booked the flight to Mt Earnslaw Glacier with a picnic on the burn (grassy area at its base) for a wedding anniversary. Awesome weather helped but great service, professionalism and going the extra mile to ensure everything went well, a special landing overlooking Glenorchy and the top of the lake. The burn is an awesome place with waterfalls all around as the snow melts in the sun. A truly memorable experience, thanks!

We didn’t think the flight was going to happen but at the last minute the rain cleared for our little patch of mountain.
There were rain clouds all around us and the sun beamed through the clouds onto the lake.
So still and peaceful!
The pilot; Chris made us feel very safe and relaxed the whole trip.

We just completed a short snow landing flight with our young son. I picked this company as they don’t charge extra for little ones and they look like they have a good safety record and lots of experience.
We also had free pickup and drop off from our hotel (taxi).
Our pilot was Craig and he took us straight up the Remarkables and picked a nice sunny spot to land on with lots of views of all the ranges and Queenstown and surrounding areas. We had about 15 mins on the snow to take photos and then back down via a small circle over Queenstown. Craig was informative and friendly and professional.
Overall a great short flight and would recommend. If we come back this way we would try to do one of the more remote trips with this company.
Minor note: ground facilities could do with having the cleaner come through - clean but bins needed emptying :)

Finally got to see parts of the Southern Lakes and Fiordland region just on our doorstep after living here over 13 years. From the Greenstone river valley over glaciers and mountain upon mountain through to the west coast and a beach landing on a secluded spot near Milford. On the way back traversing more spectacular glaciers and alpine lakes with sheer drop offs to valleys below. The flight was clinched by a landing in Earnslaw Burn at he foot of the Earnslaw glacier. What a spot with pristine waterfalls and rivers that are stunning beyond belief. This must be what heaven is like!

Wow, just wow! I've lived in Queenstown for 10 years and I've experienced so many activities here but a Milford heli flight is hands down the best thing I've ever done. I was a bit nervous to begin with but pilot Chris makes you feel so safe. It's incredible what they can do with the machines and to land at the Eranslaw Burn Glacier just topped it off. The sheer scale of it is insane. Heliworks is the only company who can land here so if you're flying to Milford you have to go with them. Thanks you so much for the most incredible experience.

Hi Ciara_OT
Thank you for your review, the fly to Milford is stunning as there are so many different things to do. Landing in the Earnslaw Burn is stunning and you don't realise how vast it is until you are there. So glad we could help you experience this and thank you for the recommendation. Kind Regards Brylee

After viewing The Earnslaw Burn Trip with Heliworks on Travel Guides 2017 TV series it has become a must do for us. Recently in Queenstown for a family birthday the time was right to achieve this. The staff were friendly and helpful and willing changed our time due to low cloud. Our pilot took us over Coronet Peak, Skippers Canyon and many other landmarks before circling over Mount Earnslaw and the glacier its self before landing at Earnslaw Burn. We had a good amount of time to explore the area before taking off travelling over the Dart River, Glenorchy, Humboldt Mountains, Moke Lake and finally Queenstown itself. This was an excellent afternoon adventure with a great company. Thanks Heliworks.

Hi All, anyone took up either the AORAKI/MT COOK GLACIER ENCOUNTER or MT COOK TASMAN GLACIER EXPERIENCE? Could you share what's the difference between the 2?
If we take a helicopter flight to Cecil Peak Ledge, how much walking/climbing is needed to get to the lookout?

Hi there, We have a couple of different options in regards to our LOTR flights. We have the Best of the Lord of the Rings which is $1940.00 pp , Great Forest flight $935.00 pp and the Flight to the Ford $500.00pp. If you have a look on our website all the flights are described in detail and have some great photos to look at. Our Glacier flight is $770 pp. Many of our longer flights and flights into Fiordland include a glacier landing. I hope this has been helpful.

We are looking to book with them as well. Do you recall specifically what package you two went with?

We went on the "ultimate paradise picnic'. Landed on a snow capped mountain nearby (they asked us if we would like to land on the snow or grass somewhere). We were up there for about an hour and a half, awesome experience!
