Part of a 10 day visit to the south island, New Zealand, after a longer stay in Australia, Queenstown was the highlight of a wonderful tour last May. We are seniors and opted for an organised visit so as to include the maximum. Queenstown Highlights was the high point of an excellent experience. Our guide - we had our own private car - was knowledgeable and articulate, not just about the tourist attractions but also about the local economy, agriculture, social welfare in NZ, the history and hopes for the future of the island. Having met mainly non-national personnel in other venues, it was great to encounter a real Kiwi. He tailored the tour to suit us. We had no particular interest in Lord of the Rings but loved the bungee jumping (as observers!), gold mining, Arrowton, wine, cheese and the Queenstown Gondola.

This morning tour went to places that I wanted to see. The driver was charming and very personable. The van was very comfortable. The itinerary is the reason I have provided a score of 3. My disappointment for me was that while we were driven to the five places on the list for the tour we were never provided with any commentary or information about anything. It was up to ourselves to learn something and make the most of each location.

Thank you for post your comments about your experience on our Queenstown Highlights tour, all feedback is very much appreciated. I am sorry to hear that our driver guide did not provide the usual high level of commentary that we expect of them on the day in question and we have addressed these concerns with him directly.
Should you ever return to Queenstown we would be very happy to offer you and a travelling companion a Queenstown Highlights tour free of charge to make up for this lapse in standards on our part.

Went on the morning tour with guide Christian. He was very patient with us and took great initiative in explaining things and helping us to take photos. He made me feel really well taken care of because I was on my own and it wasn't as awkward as I feared it would be. The sights were great and I was happy to see parts of the area without spending too much time. We could also choose where we wanted to be dropped off at the end, which is what I call personalized service.

Recently did the sightseeing tour of Queenstown with Lindsay as our guide. The sights were absolutely beautiful and it was so great getting to know a bit more about the surrounding area. The tour group was very small so we were able to go along at a very relaxed pace, with adequate time to see everything.
Lindsay was very friendly and informative, and as someone who lives in the area, he had many interesting personal insights to share.
I personally am not a big wine drinker or a bungy enthusiast, but I still had a great time visiting the winery and AJ Hackett Bungy Center. If you, like me, have an insatiable curiosity about new places and things, I would absolutely recommend this tour for you.

I have fallen in love with Queenstown, the people, facilities, views, excitement and its such a clean eco friendly place. There are a multitude of things to do and if you hire a car the scenery is just breath taking and every changing even just 10 minutes out of Queenstown. Food is a bit pricey but you do pay for quality and I was more then happy to pay because I was on Holiday in the best place yippppeee. We drove to Te Anau to do Milford Sound but the road was closed so we done Doubtful sound tour instead only 20 minutes from Te Anau. Initially dissapointed that Milford was closed but that was short lived as this day tour was amazing and well worth the money. On return from the tour and speaking to the locals at shops in Te Anau they said it is a better trip then the Milford Sound tour which I have no doubt after that wonderful day. I'm going back that way I can guarantee you :)

I wasn't expecting to get as much out I this tour as I did. James, the driver, had a lovely easy manner about him. The tour brought you around the main sights with great views and an informative commentary that seemed almost conversational rather than a monotonous monologue. You got to sample some of the regions wine and had some free time to explore Arrowtown. Definitely recommend this tour

It is best to book the tour online. Our office is located in Frankton and not in the center of Queenstown.
