My husband and I had our Fijorland trip cancelled due to weird weather and we didn't have a backup plan. We decided to give this a try. It was fun and a nice way to learn some things about the area (like the houses that get more sunlight in the winter cost over 1 million dollars due to more time to air dry their clothes), as well as get a little closer to the Remarkables. They will notify you when they are about to pull a hard 360 turn, so you can hang on (the metal hand rails are heated- mmm). I can see young (not too young) kids and even grandparents enjoying this. If you aren't someone who like too big of adrenaline rushes- try this one out.

Top notch boats, guides and Crew! We had a excellent time on the the tour! So cool you get to it all starting out on a Lake Wakatipu then traveling on to the deep Kawarau River, and finally finishing it out with the shallow braided river of the Shooter River. This trip is like doing 3 jetboat tours in 1! Captain Toby was awesome! He did a great job navigating the boat and sharing his knowledge of the area. You can tell Toby loves what he does. I highly recommend this trip. Just do it!

Wasn't really sure whether I wanted to do this but gave it a go.
Really pleased I did, was an amazing experience.
We did multiple 360's, the scenery was fantastic and the driver offered excellent commentary with plenty of humour.
Highly recommend.

I am sure the company will respond and say they are clear that it's not just the Shotover river and that is on their website.
I can accept that. In fairness I will also say the service was fine. The staff were pleasant and Adam the driver was really nice.
However today the conditions were no good for the Shotover river and therefore we only did the lake and the other river.
In my opinion that is a very different experience. It's like any other Jet boat ride in the world and in my view it's not worth the $300 for a family of 4. I rarely write negative reviews but the purpose of this review is for people to be aware and check what you are getting. If you travel from overseas one of the must do experiences is the Shotover river with the sharp narrow twists and turns and the rocks closing in on you on either side. This was not that. To be honest after 10 minutes it was boring. It is a joy ride on the lake. After a few 360 turns it becomes repetitive. The other river is wide and not much different to riding on the lake or doing a big standard jet boat anywhere else in the world. I completely get the reasons which were well explained by the driver and I understand that safety is Paramount.
What I didn't like was the way it was communicated. We went to the meeting point and spoke with 2 different staff as we checked in, stored our stuff, ask some questions, got our life jackets and the run down. At this point not a word was mentioned about not going on the Shotover. It was once the whole boat load had arrived, had all put their jackets on and were literally about to jump on that the blonde lady comes over and casually slips in that due conditions the ride will not include the Shotover river. To me that's not being up front and when your kids virtually have one foot on the boat you're hardly going to pull out. Yes, we should have delved much deeper into their website. To be honest I haven't gone back to look but I'm sure the warnings on there but equally I did go on there and it certainly wasn't obvious. I feel like it should be updated boldly on a daily basis so that you a consumer are clear that you are not getting part of what you have travelled for.
There are other companies that charge more and spend their whole time on the Shotover and I was quite happy to split the time and realised that it wasn't just the Shotover. However let's be honest that's the point difference a jet boat ride in Queenstown offers. SO... I just would like people to be aware of this situation so that if doing the Shotover is important to you and you only have limited time it helps with your planning because of there is no way they were up front about this and the ride we had today was meat and potatoes. As I say the staff were organised, lovely and it was safe and well run but I don't care what they say, they need to be more up front about the situation with the Shotover river.

I did both the jet boat and time tripped a few weeks ago. Overall, it was such a great experience. First of all, the staff are super friendly and helpful! The time tripper is a great way to learn about the history of Queenstown and some information about the Maori culture. It was also awesome to see some of the creatures that live in Lake Wakatipu!
The Jet boat was an exhilarating journey. The views were amazing, it’s a great way to get to explore outside of Queenstown. Definitely a must-do in Queenstown!

We loved our jet boat around Queenstown and the two rivers. What a rush - fab 360 spins, friendly, skilled and knowledgeable driver. We went in March and the wind chill was pretty fierce - so bring a hat or a hood if you don't like that sort of thing around the ears! All in all cannot recommend highly enough - even got some free photos chucked in when others usually charge for that sort of stuff.

K Jet is bar far the best of all the jet boat rides in the Queenstown area. I have done all 4 jet boat experiences and this was hands down the best. The service was great, the gear is great and the variety of the waterways you explore are bang on, lots of spins along with great interpretive chat from the driver along the way.
Thanks K Jet, that was a great trip out with my family.

Had an amazing trip last week with K Jet! The perfect level of thrilling and fun! The scenery was absolutely beautiful and seeing it at high speed made it even more exciting. Our guide was Vaughan, he was incredible. I felt safe the whole time and it is evident from the safety briefings that Kjet has safety as a high priority. Vaughan was knowledgeable and informative on the trip but still made it super fun! I would 10/10 recommend the trip and have used other companies in Queenstown but think this s definitley the best one. Thanks heaps Kjet!

Took my parents for my mums birthday, I have already been on this but it was in the summer and warmer season. It was awesome but it was freezing cold! Which I didn't even think about even though its winter lol. It still was amazing and the mountains were stunning!! Our driver was super cool and we had lots of fun. Would recommend wearing some water proof gloves and a head scarf if ya go in the winter.

As a group of two families we booked a one hour jet boat experience. It was raining quite heavily at time of departure and unfortunately we agreed to continue the ride, not knowing what we were in for. The company should not have taken the group out in such poor weather. It was not an enjoyable experience at all for any of us. We just commend the driver who was excellent and friendly but the company should have offered an alternative time or refund to ensure their customers had a good experience.
