Peaceful and scenic

Located at the end of the lake, well worth visiting for a walk, a picnic or just to get away from the hustle and bustle.

These gardens are beautiful. We saw them when the spring blooms were out and made for lovely pictures. You get to see Queenstown from a different perspective across the lake. You can walk back by the water into the town. Lovely to get away from the crowds.

Lovely place for a stroll after lunch to take in the sights. So peaceful and loads of birds and no noise from the outside world. There is an ice rink and plenty of picnic spots.

A beautiful garden with a nice walking track to take a stroll along. Lots of flowers, cherry blossom trees and a little duck pond to look at, as well as views of the lake and Queenstown. Very nice!

This is my favourite, free, attraction in Queenstown. The gardens are on a small promontory in Lake Wakatipu and so are surrounded by beautiful water views on 3 sides. It is well worth the effort to walk around the gardens, particularly to the side which faces the Remarkables if you want to get nice photos. I've been here twice, this... More

Such a lovely and pleasant garden to walk through. Great for all ages and even has frisbee play spots. Love the vegetation, flowers and tracks that cover the little peninsula

The place is not that big, flat so everyone can do the walk, I guess it is good for a morning run, nice view of the lake and surrounding mountains.

This is such a wonderful asset for the residents of and visitors to Queenstown. The Botanical Gardens are well maintained and located in a prime position allowing visitors to take in sweeping views of Queenstown and surrounds across Lake Wakatipu. A wonderful collection of botanical specimens, giant trees, small ponds and associated wildlife (mostly ducks) are on show. Pathways are... More

If you have kids you HAVE to take them to the garden and play frisbee golf. Lots of fun ... You can hire the frisbees for $5 at the sports store opposite the Novotel.. Allow about an hour.

On a previous visit to Queenstown, when eating at my favourite restaurant the Bath House - I saw many cyclists and runners make there way towards the greenery, on this visit I could clearly see the extent of the gardens from our accommodation up the hill and I had come prepared for a run. Unfortunately the weather was a bit... More
