Bob s Cove and track 30 minutes from Queenstown.
Great track along a beautiful pristine lake with beach
Picnic areas. IF you want to go further to the 12 mile delta
It's at least 2h30 round trip if you are fast

Has Lord if the Rings locations, beautiful rivers, lovely beaches and stunning views. A there and back again trail with a loop up and over picnic point. The views on the picnic point loop are absolutely amazing. Can do the return in 2-3 hours. A wander around Bobs cove is excellent too.

Secluded area, offers an escape from the summer tourist crowds. A pleasant nature walk to the pier, picturesque lookout. The cove has a crystal clear turquoise water great for swimming and photos.

Free parking at 1246 Glenorchy-Queenstown rd not far from Fishermans Lane. Take the track at the far end of the car park down to the water. No wheelchair access. There is a toilet about 5 minutes into the walk on the left once you get down hill. Continue on along the path or walk along the beach taking in the views of Bob's Cove. About 15 minutes into the walk you will come across the wharf, a good place for photos and even a swim. the water is crystal clear on a nice calm day.
You can continue on for a much longer walk, but this parking spot gives you quick access to Bob's Cove. Allow yourself about an hour for the return walk to the wharf and some sightseeing.

What a great hike. Easy and with great views. The 20 minute “picnic loop” after the pier gets you up top for the stunning views of the sound and the rest of the lake. It is uphill at that point but only for about 10 minutes of it and it’s definitely worth it.

A really good short hike. Not overly challenging in terms of difficulty but provides great reward with some wonderful views over the cove.

We hiked this trail on a cold wet day, however it is an enjoyable hike. It is a well maintained track with lovely views.

We parked at Bob's Cove Track and just did the short walk to the picnic lookout. When you start the trail, follow the signs for the river/jetty and don't bother with the forest loop. Continue along to the short, steep trail to the lookout point. It's very pretty with late afternoon sun.

Lovely area for a walk, the view from Picnic point is fantastic too. I like to start at Twelve Mile delta car park. Walk to Picnic Point, over the top then down to Bobs Cove. Do the wee loop round to the car park then walk back to Twelve Mile Delta Car park. This is approx 12km. Some nice historic building ruins and a great wee Pier that is a dream for Instagram!!

Bob's Cove was a highlight from our holiday. The hike isnt very long, approximately 30-40mins round trip. Only the last part is an incline, we managed to do it with a 12kg child on our backs. Would highly recommend the walk.
