Bob's Cove is on the Glenorchy road just out of Queenstown, and is a superb little walk in the beech forest and along the waters edge. We had a lovely fine late afternoon where the water was very still and the reflections across the lake...More

If you are die-hard LotR fans, be sure to visit Twelve Mile Delta campsite, as you can discover the Ithilien Camp battle scene as well as the exact point when the rabbit-cooking techniques were debated.

We were here as part of the Nomad LotR tour, and it was really great to see the areas where Ithilien was filmed - they were very recognizable. However, even aside from that, it was definitely worth a visit. There's a beautiful river, and I...More

Ok there are a few steep sections of this trail, but "taking it easy" and resting as needed should make it possible for nearly everyone to DO IT. After a long, scenic drive to get here from Queenstown, it's great to escape the car and...More

Drove onto Bob's Cove and walked from the car park and did the loop. It is a shorter walk and you get to see the headland, kiln and the great view. This is a beautiful walk with beautifully clear water to swim in.

A really good short hike. Not overly challenging in terms of difficulty but provides great reward with some wonderful views over the cove.

Hike is relatively easy - some inclines along the way. Took us about 30mins to get to the peak. View of lake wakatipu is lovely.

Bob's Cove was a highlight from our holiday. The hike isnt very long, approximately 30-40mins round trip. Only the last part is an incline, we managed to do it with a 12kg child on our backs. Would highly recommend the walk.

We hiked this trail on a cold wet day, however it is an enjoyable hike. It is a well maintained track with lovely views.
